Lovedrug – Pushing the Shine Lyrics 15 years ago
I think that is a good interpretation of the lyrics, RadLikeWhoa. When I read the lyrics, I see it the same way, except I think he is expressing feelings more of anger than depression, although those feelings are often expressed in the same way, so either idea works I think. I see this song as a dream he is having, where he is giving shit back to the world that has always given him shit. He is speaking to the world when he says "Hello, hello, I am the sun. Now tell me "It burns, It burns!" It is a dream that he gets to inflict pain on the world as an act of vengeance. Then the end of the song he has woken up and thus the lyrics turn around and he is being burned again. "Hello, hello, you are the sun. I tell you it burns, it burns!"

Lovedrug – Everything Starts Where It Ends Lyrics 15 years ago
He sounds exactly like the singer from The Fray when he says everything starts where it ends. i almost thought it was the fray when i first heard it. anyways, this is my favorite song right now its just incredible, musically and lyrically. to me, this song is talking about someone who was in love with someone who died and they are just learning that it is ok to move on and love again. i'm sure it can translate differently to different people.

Linkin Park – Hands Held High Lyrics 16 years ago
"Oh my god...you guys do realize that Linkin Park did not come up with "when the rich wage war, it's the poor who die," right? It's a Jean-Paul Sartre quote."

Yeah, its a Jean-Paul Sartre quote... which is why the lyric says he wrote a QUOTE in the back of the book!!!!!! HE WROTE A QUOTE, FROM SARTRE, IN THE BACK OF THE BOOK!!! that was just an awesome quote, props to Chinoda.

And as far as the people who hate the liberals for not allowing oil-digging in Alaska, let me give you a little information. The amount of oil that is actually in Alaska would be enough to last MAYBE three days for all of America. So, if we were to drill for oil in Alaska, America would go through its usual ritual of destroying land, spilling oil in the ocean, killing a bunch of wildlife, and leaving a bunch of machinery out in the wilderness just so that we could have three day's worth of oil. Better not spill too much! Then we'll only have two days worth of oil and a bunch of dead seals! But I'm sure Bush would be cool with it. Gotta look out for his nation, right? No matter how many more trillions of dollars of debt we end up in, gotta have that oil!

Tori Amos – Cooling Lyrics 17 years ago
when she says "Peggy got a message for me from Jesus, and i heard every word you have said" it makes me think that maybe she is saying that through all of her Christian upbringing, she really heard everything that was said, namely by her father, whether she chose to make it her belief or not. kind of reassuring

Tori Amos – Happy Phantom Lyrics 17 years ago
it's funny how lighthearted this song makes me feel up until the end when the says "or will i see you, dear, and wish i could come back? you found a girl that you could truly love again. will you still call for me when she falls asleep? or do we soon forget the things we cannot see?" and then suddenly it's completely tearjerking. it kinda makes me think of the movie Ghost, how patrick swayze just watches his wife keep living, but can't speak to her or touch her. sad concept.
