i sorta agree with huddy and mijako. she's drowning in her responsibilities at home. she's unhappy and "Start(s) a few fires (that) end(s) (her) stay". "Pressing little mouths going to talk (her) way" (gossiping housewives talking about her). that's what i gather from the song at least. |

i think it is just about live and death, heaven and hell, right and wrong. we are all imperfect, and at times "let the devil in" and do things we know we should not do. and they are saying we "best enjoy the ride" the ride being life, "'cause when we get to heaven's gate we're not getting inside" because of all the evil we have done in life, and because we let the devil in. |

i looked it up. they arent divorced. so XP ur wrong. he was divorced in the 90s. i also heard on the radio today that he said in an interview he stills has dreams that kurt is alive, but everyone else thinks hes dead. so he is obviously not that over it. im not saying every foo song is about kurt. just like at least one or two. i win! |

jeez, what is with all the foo bashin on this album? i think all the songs are great, and who cares "what album it belongs on"? its the same band after all. they shouldn't be restricted by "electric" and "acoustic" or what have you as separate albums, or genres as some people are making it out to be. they are still the best band of today and all of their songs are amazing. they are brilliant artists. |

i agree btw that this probably has something to do with the whole kurt-courtney thing, especially since dave and krist from nirvana were in court over the bands distribution rights.
but i think that most of the foo's songs have multiple meanings. and the last album had "friend of a friend" which was about kurt, so i don't see why this album couldn't have songs about him too. |

ugh..please don't say that about Scream..i like to think of them as DC Punk..even if they aren't, please don't kill my little dream..besides ppl call Fugazi emocore, and i find that a little hard to believe.
anyway i think this is poking fun at himself in the emocore scene, but also emo nowadays, because all these boys are screaming, wearing make-up, and boo-hooing about their dead pet gerbils all mostly to impress girls. i think this is telling them to grow the hell up. BUT i also think that this about a relationship gone bad, and he just has to grow up and get over it. just my first impression though. |

ok unclean, i maybe completely wrong, but this is what I gathered from the lyrics.
like dave said, magick without tears was is a book on wiccan practices. i think the magical veneer refers to a veneer put up by the idea of protecting yourself with magic or a bad appearance an individual would gain in society if they became a witch.
i also think that mother noose refers to unavoidable death that we all face as mortals, or that magick leads to death (like their vid. seems to project). golden dawn could also refer to heaven (the dawn of eternal life).
koh phanganhas is also known as the island of paradise, like heaven is paradise. but they do have the festival of the moon there as well, and i have been told that there are elements in nature, such as the moon, that are worshiped in wicca (i could be totally wrong about that though).
anyway my take on the song is that it about the struggle between good and bad, heaven and hell. than again, klaxons said in an interview that their music is purely escapist, so i am probably reading too much into this one.
