Dutch Uncles – Babymaking Lyrics | 8 years ago |
It's about babymaking - well maybe maybes. |
alt-J – Every Other Freckle Lyrics | 9 years ago |
The song is about what you're thinking in your head when you see someone in public you find attractive - but you know you'll never approach them or talk to them. The lyrics posted did make me laugh - they are so far off the correct ones. |
Wild Beasts – The Fun Powder Plot Lyrics | 10 years ago |
It is about Fathers 4 Justice - a kick up the arse isn't gay sex unless by some weird technicality. Doesn't refer to a literal kick anyway, more likely means to striking a blow for the cause by invading Parliament. |
Morcheeba – Charango Lyrics | 10 years ago |
All this plus a little more |
Elbow – Mirrorball Lyrics | 10 years ago |
No babies were kissed in he making of this song. First chorus is "we made the moon our mirrorball" |
Wild Beasts – The Fun Powder Plot Lyrics | 10 years ago |
The liner notes say all songs written by Wild Beasts - no reference to Jorge Abner Drexler. The lyrics are correct. |
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Idiot Prayer Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Guy on death row coming up to his execution and thinking about the victim. Bit of black humour about heaven and hell along the way. |
alt-J – Tessellate Lyrics | 11 years ago |
That's pretty much what the band said the song (and triangle) was about, some of these other explanations seem quite imaginative. The song was also written before the band name was made up I understand - the triangle doe not specifically refer to the Mac symbol therefore. |

The Clash – Train in Vain Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Bullshit |
alt-J – Bloodflood Lyrics | 11 years ago |
Yep - the song looks to be about the feeling of being under threat after calling someone common. |
Metric – Breathing Underwater Lyrics | 11 years ago |
The lyric is weight not wind. |
Wild Beasts – Loop The Loop Lyrics | 13 years ago |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igxGmf_Wv6g Maybe that will work better |

It is "and hands will grab at us" - there is no "our" in the lyric |
Wild Beasts – Deeper Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Corrections You plug the yawning void and The fires inside you race |
Wild Beasts – Loop The Loop Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Actually that section of the song is correctly Slender, oh there are some but they're slender Oh there are some but they're slender sums I regret |
Wild Beasts – Loop The Loop Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It is actually "slender sums I regret" not slender songs. |
Wild Beasts – Plaything Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Correct on concur and conquer - and the you're is said as yer and sort of as sorta, just by way of a minor correction. |
Egyptian Hip Hop – Rad Pitt Lyrics | 13 years ago |
What are we today Enlighten me some other way Crawling right out of your shell Pat my back and wish me well Who am I to you But a mighty fool Let me feel it So much hunger I have time, to sit around Wasting the days, I could have had I have only one regret That I never, lived my life, at its best I will take, your side You can, provide For me, in the long run It, will be, all we thought it was What are we today Enlighten me some other way Crawling right out of your shell Pat my back and wish me well Who am I to you But a mighty fool Let me feel it So much hunger |
Egyptian Hip Hop – Rad Pitt Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Definitely Pat My Back and not Pack My Bags. However "wasting days I could have had" |
Bloc Party – Hunting for Witches Lyrics | 13 years ago |
It is about the reaction to the London Bombings and the tendency for newspapers and others to scapegoat certain parts of society as a result. |
The Drums – Let's Go Surfing Lyrics | 14 years ago |
This might be a long shot but I think this song means that the they want to go surfing - but then I'm so very hopeless so who knows. |
The Cribs – We Were Aborted Lyrics | 14 years ago |
In the grey of yesterday A breeze blew over exposing A memory so small What is it here for? That your virility Makes me forget empathy And dig your hole That's what we're here for To make you feel important Cos you knew we were aborted It's the same things that we're saying all this time And they have everything They'd have kept their ribs, I'm sure of it It's what they're all about But getting inside counts And mass virility Has made me forget empathy And dig your hole It's what we're here for To make you feel important Cos you knew we were aborted It's the same things that we're saying all this time (they may be views , but they'll never be mine) While mid-shelf masturbation Leaves a smear on half the nation Its the same things that they're saying all the time aaaaaahh Oh your virility Has made me forget empathy So I dig your hole That's what what they're here for To make you feel important Cos you knew we were aborted It's the same things that we're saying all the time And mid-shelf masturbation Leaves a smear on half the nation It's the same things that they're saying all the time |
The Cribs – Cheat On Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Minor error - Giving Up is Give It Up |
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – (Are You) The One That I've Been Waiting For? Lyrics | 14 years ago |
The album was written after his break up with PJ Harvey - reasonable to assume it is about her. |
David Bowie – China Girl Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Taking drugs in Berlin more like. |
The Coral – Dreaming Of You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Well this has always been one of my favourite songs but I'd say it is pretty certainly about heroin and not about a girl, although I think it has been deliberately written to be ambigious enough to sound to the casual listener like it might be about love of a person. |

Elbow – An Audience with the Pope Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I thought it was about the singer being madly in love with a girl who wasn't in love with him, but was involved with him when it suited her. Hence he is the moth to her flame but the world his turning at her pace. |
The Enemy – You're Not Alone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The lyrics differ from the ones on the album cover - but buy the album and you'll get the correct lyrics. |
The Cribs – Men's Needs Lyrics | 16 years ago |
With my eyes it is hard to read the lyrics off the album cover but a magnifying glass later and it certainly says found not full - so Jonaz you were saying? |
The B-52's – Dance This Mess Around Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Just brilliant guitar on this track - and the keyboard and vocals match it perfectly. |
The B-52's – Planet Claire Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It was played frequently when I was at University way back when - think to this day it is one of the great songs of the last thirty years. The opening with the singing mimicking the keyboard is simply brilliant and the guitar on the whole album is just a great and unique sound, I gather played with four strings. Will always be a favourite. |

Kings of Leon – Fans Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The lyrics printed at the top are well off the mark in a number of cases but the song is great and is clearly about the English Fans. |
Kings of Leon – Arizona Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The lyrics are wrong above and this is a straight forward song about a trip to a whorehouse in arizona. The guys referred to is obviously the pimp or whorehouse guard, who it appears Caleb picks a fight with later when he is drunk and gets thrown out on the pavement. He comes round and she's still there and waves to him, he thinks she's crazy for doing so. |
