I thing the lyric "The things I have loved I'm allowed to keep" should be a question it makes the song into a whole different song for me.
"The things I have loved I'm allowed to keep?
I'll never know if I go to sleep."
That has a whole different meaning than with a period to me. |

I had typed a whole paragraph about this song and then I reread the lyrics while listening to the song and I got a whole new meaning. I think they are having THE TALK I feel like the chorus is like the rest of the song where he says the I don't love you and she says But I always will. This made the song have a whole new meaning for me.
He is saying that he has things that he keeps hidden from her so that she is not hurt. She in turn says that she already knows and it doesn't matter to her. He thinks that she is good for him and bad for him at the same time. She thinks that they want differnt things from the realation ship. The chorus is just them saying how they feel as if they are at an impass. She wishes that he would be there for her more but he thinks the only time she shows that she cares is when he distant. she things that he can either bring them together or break them apart. He knows that he has no choice but to choose her but he wants to make the best of the situation by saying that he chooses to say.

This was the first Jason Mraz song I ever heard and I remember thinking this song is the most upbeat happy song I have ever heard. I remember in chorus we had "talent days" and I sung this song ( this was before I'm Yours) and every one was like who is that and were did you hear it. this is till one of my faovorite songs EVER. |

I think this is my favorite Regina song the first time I heard it I remember feeling like my life had changed I have listened to this song over 75 times on my itunes. I've never read The Little Prince but to me this song is about how you meet someone and fallen in love and you lose the the wall that you put up so you become "tamed". now things aren't working out she is saying that now that you have gotten me to let down my walls you have to stay with me. She is thinking that now that she let her guard down what is she suppose to do. Now after a awhile she is saying how she didn't really want to be with him any way but that's a lie |

I feel like the "twihards" ruin this song by not being able to separate Rob from Edward. He just doesn't seem like the kind of guy that would write a song about a book/movie.
I think its about a relationship that is in the last legs but she is still trying to save it but he knows that there
s nothing left to save. I feel like the girl in the song is really insecure and feels like she NEEDS him. Its like you see some girl/guy trying to break up amicably but the other person is saying how much they still loves them so he says "save your soul" like stop before you embarrass your self. And in the end when he says "Without me you got it all so hold on" I think he's saying that she can make it without him that she dosen't need him to make her life better
He said that he would never seriously take up music as a career, because not many people would see him as Robert Pattinson the musician they would just see him as "the guy from twilight trying to sing" no matter how amazing his voice is. I love all of his music and I'm sure if he did come out with more music it would be just as awesome as this song without it having to be about twilight. I think it is very sad that we won't be able to hear more of his music because people can't tell fact from fiction |

I agree with Barranos that he was lonely so he called his ex, in these lines:
I was sure I wouldn't find you at home
And you let me down
I think he was calling her thinking that she wasnt home kinda hoping that she wasnt there when he called you know how you call someone you want to tell something to but in a way you hope they arent home. he was hurt by her in the past and the whole time he was with her he was trying to forget and forgive b/c he was so lonely he just wanted to hold someone he loved even if they hurt him but he keeps remembering the feelings that he had when he found out that she cheated she didnt just cheat on him she had him with some random dude she had him in her bed the one that is suppose to be for them. |

I agree with littlestkinner that this is more to a loved one that isn't there any more but they are sill in the shadow of her mind so she doesn't think of them as often as she use to. But they know her faults so when she need help with something that seems impossible like clenching water in her fists and she is questioning the things that are happing in her life she can think back at how much she loves them so it'll be ok |

i think this song is about a person who fell in love with some one who already had some on that the love and ddint really love them but pretended to. and after all that sneaking around the person gave up on them and now that its over the person wonders why and how some one could do as much as they did without really meaning any of it.
