Modest Mouse – Teeth Like God's Shoeshine Lyrics

To me this song also points out the meaninglessness and mundaneness of life, "The televisions on" "Go to the grocery store, buy some new friends. "Pick up the reciever, find out the end, the beginning, and the best of it." |

For me, like a lot of other Modest Mouse songs, are just about the frustration in general about modern life. I dont think Isaac went a certain direction these are just his emotions poured out and soaked up by our ears to be interpreted through our own experiences. To me, almost every lyric has to do with frustration I feel with not understanding life and the frustration of feeling like im the only one who thinks this shit is weird as fuck...Its just a jumble of emotions on multiple topics, stretching from religion to concepts of life/friends/society/business/greed everything. This music is not pre-meditated thought or emotion. This is real. The "All all gone" line reminds me of drug addiction especially the way he stretched out the notes. |

Jesus you guys are retarded. To me, its about dying and when he gets to heaven they have no plan, and their unknowing of the true meaning of existence and the universe. They say, well your an aethiest? Alright well put ya over here, polishing shit for the people who at least believed in a heaven. And then the leader comes in and tells him he has no fucking clue whether God Exists, He is the leader of Heaven, but even he has a theory on God. God takes care of himself and you of you. Youll never meet him. |

This song has alot of meaning to me...when detoxing from opiates I went to live with my brother in Colorado, leaving Arizona and all my many drugs. The line "Im at my house but I wish i were at home" describes generally how I feel. |

Modest Mouse – Dramamine Lyrics

To me this song sounds exactly like how a diphenhydramine trip feels (Benedryll) Im not going to say dont try it, but it really isnt that fun by itself. But with other drugs (opiates, weed) it unleashes a mad feeling of lightness and confusion and delirium. But..anyways, this song makes me feel so strongly toward that tripped out, dramamine feeling, and a little bit of depression, with a straightforward view (not up, or down) but straight constant, down mood. It also reminds me of problems with people I've loved or cared for in my life. Especially relationships. |

This song is just amazing. It has to be the best song ive ever heard to just release that anger and revenge emotion. Everytime I hear that outro man i get goosebumps. Im a classic rock/rock kind of guy but I can stand some rap and I like old school hip-hop. This song just has such powerful emotion it. I get a tingle in my brain when I hear him scream the outro out with such feeling....man... |

I agree with Dwslassls. But I think you can interpret it as a song about drugs, it does indeed sound like he's describing the feeling of being stoned from weed in my opinion, or describing another drug. Dylan was an amazing poet/songwriter who twisted your thoughts and senses, waving and swirling them, leaving lyrics to be interpreted in different and multiple ways. This song to me makes me feel very sleepy and is the feeling I get when im falling to sleep, high on marijuana. Or just fallling asleep, dreaming. |

I love howthe singers voice gets louder and louder and more and more intense. I think its about how your so simple when your young, and when you get older, humans have the capability to fuck everything over or do amazing things.
Its simply about how YOU can do achieve anything |

This song is my all time favorite song. From my all time favorite band. It means so much to me. It kinda sends a comfort to me, also but depresses me at the same time. Its a great song to listen to when your high. Its a wonderful. Time, meaning time is all just short for all of us, and you cant ever go back. We only get one life, and no matter what, we WILL get old and we WILL look at what we've lost and what we wont get to do. It also tells of your feelings towards life as you grow. When your young, you want to hurry get out, see things and accomplish stuff in your life. And when you grow and get old, you have a comfort of sitting at the fire and just thinking back on your life...Your life.....is a ticking time bomb....waiting to go off and when it goes off....is when you die.....THE GREATEST SONG EVER KNOWN TO MAN. THE BEST MUSIC YOU CAN POSSIBLY WRITE. |
