Needtobreathe – White Fences Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"So 'White Fences' is a song kind of about the American Dream of, you know, growing up in big house, having a white picket fence and it's kind of where things go wrong. Where either you get that dream and it's broken, or things just didn't pan out the way that you wanted. Then what, who's going to fix that? I think that's the question that the song asks." - Bo Rinehart |
Lady GaGa – You and I Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Wisconsin here and it's always Wisconsin on the radio |
Jimmy Eat World – Coffee and Cigarettes Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Love the Otis Redding reference! My favorite band singing about my favorite singer. Doesn't get much better than that! |
The Notorious B.I.G. – Mo Money Mo Problems Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Biggie obviously kills his part and steals the song Ma$e comes in with a seriously underrated line of his own though "And then ya yell there go ma$e, there go your cutie". FRESH. |
The Notorious B.I.G. – Sky's The Limit Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"Stay far from timid Only make moves when ya heart's in it And live the phrase Sky's The Limit" B.I.G.'s not dead, just push play... |
Edwin McCain – Shooting Stars Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Such an underrated Edwin McCain song. In my opinion this should stand up there with "I'll Be" & "I Could Not Ask For More". It's basically Just Edwin's commentary on the world of today and the seeming lack of love in it. We are hiding our love (for anyone or anything) because we think it's inadequate by itself. Instead we get caught up in trying to express our love through material things, but as he says in the song "just remember that they're only things." He argues that THE most important thing in our lives should be the love we feel for others, and the love we get from others. If more people realized this, the world would be a better place. Anyways, like I said that's just my opinion. But hopefully that'll get a discussion started on this song, because it's one of my favorites and I don't think it gets the recognition it deserves. |
Kings of Leon – Holy Roller Novocaine Lyrics | 14 years ago |
by FAR my favorite KOL song. don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those OBtN haters (i still listen Sex on a daily basis), but their new stuff just doesn't sound as dirty and raw as their older stuff. And that's what they've always been known and loved for. But now with the commercial success of OBtN, one of two things will happen. 1) They will continue to make radio-friendly jams 2) They will say fuck it, we've made a lot of money and let's do things our way now. I, personally, hope the latter is the road they take. But something in me says that they're going to be like anyone else in their position and take the money. Anyways, still love KOL and adore the song! |
Ben Folds – Effington Lyrics | 14 years ago |
There is a real Effington in Minnesota, though! |
Driving East – Blue Eyes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"It started out as a secret, that you'd never know I was sleeping around." --This song is definitely about the singer cheating on his girlfriend...and then feeling bad about it. |
My Favorite Highway – Closer Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"You can't explain why you're feeling alone Falling asleep to a dial tone You dream about the trouble you're in Then you pray that something fits" i really like that part. its just some guy who is laying by his phone, hoping the girl he is in love with (tho they are just starting to get "close") will call, and randomly picking up the phone when he thinks he hears the phone ringing. but after a whole night of this he eventually falls asleep, leaving his dreams to take over his thoughts of this girl. |
A Day at the Fair – Remembering Britt Lyrics | 17 years ago |
an amazing, but sort of depressing song that i can relate to |
A Day at the Fair – Remembering Britt Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think britt was an ex-girlfriend of the singer, pretty obvious. and most of the song is the singer looking back and remembering the good times they had when they were together. but in going through all these memories he starts to realize that maybe she wasnt really meant to be with him after all. "were you the one for me?" when they were dating she probably promised that she'd always love him. "you told me you loved me forever and again." but then they broke up, she moved away and forgot about him. "she broke my heart when she broke my promise." |
