I like how Mike Shinoda got people to talk about the things that they witnessed and it's like you have all these recordins of people in Concentration Camps and being in Ellis Island, but I've never heard someone's point of view for World War Two and I think it's great how he incorperated it into his song. |

I think that this is about someone who's past is catching up with him like he ran away from it and now it's coming back, but he tries to ignore it (he doesn't want the message) but it scares him. Just a thought. |

I think they're talking about being in a crappy neighborhood (EX: drug dealing, prostitutes homeless) and that they need to get out of this or run away from this neighborhood to be somebody or be wothwhile. Or maybe the same idea but an abusive household or something. And maybe when it says 'fading away' it's about withdrawing yourself from the rest of the world from these memories and just being forgotten. |
