I first thought it was talking about the aurora borealis aswell, but I think this song is simply about sunrise, especially after reading Delirium's list of references. It says in this line that the title is referring to sunrays:
Amber streams from Sol
are not unlike the waves of the sea
I feel this song is a collection of mythological figures and ideas that all tie in to the subject of the rising of the sun - dawn. |

I absolutely adore Agalloch's feelings of species dysphoria and misanthropy that underline many of their songs. I feel this song is about escaping the miseries of life and humanness through a spiritual flight of death. |

Awesome song! I love how the music tells more of the story than the words in this song, it's so incredibly energetic and captures the feeling very well. I've never been a fan of songs with repetitive choruses but the repetition of "embrace the storm" followed by the powerful music is absolutely amazing. |

A beautiful song! One of my favourites from Elvenking. I think it's interesting to note a few connections to another one of their songs - here are some lyrics from "Skywards":
"Stone after stone I'm moulding my shelter
I watch it grow with endless delight
Carry me, carry me all your devotion
Deep in my heart to see my haven fall once again"
Compare with:
"Far away some clay is left to mould
another haven"
To me it seems like this song is a sequel to Skywards - he watched his haven fall, and now he's building another. Just a thought. Both fantastic songs!! |
