A headache, huh? That's kind of interesting. I recently read The Kite Runner, set in Afganistan, in which they used that vocally to imitate the sound of trumpet fanfare in congratulations. I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but it seemed to make some sense at the time. George certainly wasn't an attention seeker. |

I love this song (no really, I mean it!) and I just heard it in concert. Said concert convinced me the lyrics are "and had chosen the sun," which I thought was correct when I first heard it. However, Nick Urata mixed up the "mothering eyes/mexican skies" bit. I still think it's had chosen.

I definitely agree with Schwealdson...yeah, that person.
The fact that it starts out with that kind of weird, not stripsy self help introduction seems to set it up- and then moves to rather heavy rock and roll with a kind of sarcastic edge.
To me, it almost seems to say that the "acorn" analogy completely trivializes complex problems- because "the problems at hand are lighter than at heart." We're complex creatures.
@huambo- I immediately thought that the "cut up your hair/straighten your curls" line was a reference to youth- kind of the curly-headed cherubic image. I think this also adds to the sarcastic message that everything will be fine if you just get over yourself and stop being emotional. Maybe. I don't know. |

First of all, isn't it:

And I pretty much do this with everyone, always- and I always pick up people's habits because I like who the person is. It is annoying to feel like I'm not myself- but who makes me what I am? Everyone around me. I think is probably reflected in all those (awesome) voices. |

I like this song a lot. It kind of sort of relates to me right now. I've had a rough time of it. However, though I hate to be childish, this song seems kind of creepy and pedophilic...
Also, Mr./Ms. Artbeat, that is an interesting point- I'm going to have to take a closer...listen. I felt Rag and Bone seems like it should have a special meaning, but I wasn't sure what. |
