Ellie Goulding – Figure 8 Lyrics | 11 years ago |
I believe the lyric book is an outdated version of the lyrics. Like they were the original/outline of what she wanted, but when she recorded she went with what she liked or sounded better. Explosions is the key because some parts are >really< different, but also because it happened on the Lights album as well. |
Ellie Goulding – Bittersweet Lyrics | 11 years ago |
In between the verses it's only "Hot and cold in, I know it burns you" The longer sections are "Hot and cold in, I know it burns you, hot and cold in a lonely hotel room" and played twice twice. |
Kimbra – Something In The Way You Are Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Well, seems lyricfind has swooped in and murked up these lyrics as well. Do they listen by ear and just give it a go? I see a lot of the errors I thought when I did that. But besides the songbook, she has her (correct) lyrics posted on her website! :/ |
Kimbra – Home Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Seems lyricfind has swooped in and murked up the lyrics. =sighs= The corrections still stands. |
Kimbra – Home Lyrics | 12 years ago |
It's mixed up in the lyric book too ^^; np |
Kimbra – Home Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"Taught in my father's lies" -> "Taught in my father's arms?" "I'm gonna stop the bus side" -> "I'm gonna stop the façade" "Grope in the bright lights" -> "Groping at bright lights" "Hope is the futures/Do I wait the past?" -> "Hoping for futures to outweigh the past" "Caught in the lovers charm" -> "Is it caught in a lover's charm?" There's more, but these are the biggies. |
Kimbra – Something In The Way You Are Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Just a note - the words in the [ ]'s are words in the official lyric book but not really heard in the song. ( )'s are words in the song but not in the official lyric book (EXCEPT "That Door" and "More" in the chorus) |
Imogen Heap – Xizi She Knows Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm surprised these weren't posted earlier; Heap released them fairly early. I only adjusted a few lyrics to how she sang it in the song, And I didn't want to screw up the Mandarin, so I just opted for [counting]. |
Imogen Heap – Propeller Seeds Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Well someone was excited to post this :P Hopefully the full lyrics will be posted soon. I won't be able to buy the package until next week >_< |
Imogen Heap – Lifeline Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I love this song. I think it's a bit self-explanatory, but then again, I was one of the ustreamers who followed the song from conception to actualization =) Still, I don't think it's too hard to grasp. From the reviews/comments I've seen, people find the lyrics a tad depressing/emo-ish. |
Sam Sparro – Black and Gold Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Good stuff =) |
Imogen Heap – First Train Home Lyrics | 13 years ago |
HA! On Vokle yesterday, explaining FTH, immi said she was miserable at the party and started drink to pass the time. |
Adele – He Won't Go Lyrics | 13 years ago |
blu girl 4eva solves it! I was kind of close. It reminds me of 'Rumour Has It' in that how it starts out makes you think one thing, but towards the end you get the true meaning of the song. At first she sounds desperate to be someone no good for her, but she leaves clues that he was a different person, and the 'poison' is what changed him. Because he's trying, she's still clinging to the hope that he can return to that person. The end imo definitely reveals that. I was thinking he was probably an alcoholic or a generic druggie, so I wasn't too far off! And he probably doesn't have a great support system, so she's bearing a lot of the weight. Even though it's hard, she can't leave him because he won't get anywhere alone. 'She' in general terms, of course. A lot of people are making it seem like Adele (and artists in general is talking about herself in all her songs, but that^ interview (and others) confirms she writes off her experiences and the people around her. |
Adele – Daydreamer Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I've always heard "Waiting, for surprise", as in he's waiting at your/her house to surprise you/her. And because he's been waiting for so long, yet still committed to surprise you there anyway ("and he will feel like he's been there for hours"), you/she knows intuitively that he's going stay committed to you/her ("And You/I can tell he'll be there for life"). It's her dream guy, so even if he's a little impatient, he's committed and caring =) |
Adele – Daydreamer Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is how I hear it, and been singing it... Daydreamer Sittin' on the sea' Soaking up the sun, he is a Real lover With makin' up the past and Feelin' up his girl like he's never felt 'er figure before A jaw-dropper Looks good when he when he walks, Is the subject of their talk He would be Hard to chase, but good to catch, and He could change the world with his hands behind his back, Oh You can find him sittin' on your doorstep Waitin'... for surprise And he will feel like he's been there for hours And you can tell that he'll be there for life Daydreamer With eyes that make you melt He lends his coat for shelter plus He's there for you when he shouldn't be But he stays all the same; waits for you, then Sees you through There's no way I could describe him What I said is just what I'm hopin' for But I will find him sittin' on my doorstep Waitin'.... for surprise And he will feel like he's been there for hours And I can tell that he'll be there for life And I can tell that he'll be there for life |
Imogen Heap – Wait It Out Lyrics | 14 years ago |
^The first printing of the lyric book has a lot of misprints and mistakes. I don't believe the line was intentionally dropped :) IIRC, First Train Home is missing a few lines, and in Canvas she can't find the strength to keep you 'taut", not "taught". Just use the lyric book as tentative guideline and immi herself as the gospel =D |
Imogen Heap – First Train Home Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Doesn't it sound like she's getting progressively drunker as the song goes on? It's mentioned that she's had a bit too much to drink, but before that, the "run in fields, paint the kitchen, and love someone" seems just a little too random to rattle off with a clear head. Seems like she decided to turned to the drink to avoid the urge to start swinging :) |

From Kate herself: Serpentine has no real lyrics!! http://ctnmusic.com/2009/08/29/some-questions-to-kate-havnevik/ |
Imogen Heap – Bad Body Double Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Barely over 5 foot... sorry, I was tired. |
Imogen Heap – The Fire Lyrics | 14 years ago |
It's very beautiful. Can you hear the sounds, other than the fire in the background? |
Imogen Heap – Earth Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I like how it's almost in a Mother Nature sort of point of view, playing up the "scolding mother" bit. And we're the fidgeting child indifferent to what she's trying to explain. |
Imogen Heap – Between Sheets Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Imogen's rest area, if this were a game ;) But yes, just that time just after sex and perhaps before sleep... Well no, unless you've been going at it all night (It's that "morning" line that throws it off...) But in my head it's that^ tiny window of bliss. I imagine the morning after would feel a little less "omgWOW" unless you two really like each other. |
Imogen Heap – Bad Body Double Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I grinned when I heard this - I thought I was the only nutter who had an "image" of themselves that was slightly off from the real thing. It doesn't matter if I'm barely over a foot, my legs are really much longer... and of course I'm at least 15 pounds lighter than that person. Really, really... At the end you resign to yourself that it really might just be you in the mirror. So you plan on setting it right -- tomorrow. You're only human after all ;) And the line is, "Sometimes I manage to lose her, shake her, At a bar, in the gym for five minutes..." And "We look face similar, except she's got some greys..." Also "Say hi there To my bad bad bad bad body double She's trouble, mm... I can't shake her And I hate her, I hate her I'm a hater, I'm a hater, I'm a hater. She's everywhere I go!!!" And the end: "I'm gonna get rid you once and for all Gonna roll you out oh a pilates rubber ball Sweat and step up the pace and the gradient. Starting tomorrrow - I am your nemesis!" |
Imogen Heap – Swoon Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I still have to listen a few more times, but my first thought was that she's starting to date someone and her mind is running wild - like Goodnight and Go pt. 2. She's finally got the guy, but he's not yet 'in love', and she wants him to hurry up and "swoon" into her arms, 'cause her imagination is running wild ;) |
Imogen Heap – 2-1 Lyrics | 14 years ago |
If you listen to the earlier clips, it is a bit slower, and feels a little more "haunting". This seems to swing in moods - at least for me. I also second the notion that this is about God, or maybe just religion in general. I didn't see Prince Casbian, so it might make references to that as well, but certain things, like "pinning your hopes on the top dog of dreams", and the word play of "2-1". And really, would people be ready if they found out their beliefs might not be true? Would you be able to face that everything you believed in was a lie? And hasn't everyone wondered those "I'm dying to know" questions about their head honcho of religion? Just a song about... "What if?" Small tweak in the lyrics - from the album lyrics it says "Course I care about you", not "'Cuz I care about you". Take it with a grain of salt though - I know the first printing of the lyric book is slightly off, but I think it's right. |
Kate Havnevik – You Again Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Probably because it kind of sounds like English words, even if they don't make sense. |
Kate Havnevik – Halo Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I like this song, but there are two things that bug me. "Who do you mean when you change your tone?/Who do you dream of when you're half asleep with one eye open?" I think it would've sounded a bit better if the second line was "Who do you dream of when you're half asleep with one eye closed?" As I try to memorize the song I keep making the mistake and it bugs xP And rhyming "cyberspace" with "space"? Come on, Kate, Guy >:) |
Kate Havnevik – Halo Lyrics | 15 years ago |
First off, good try but there are mistakes. From Kate herself: Who do you love, when love is gone? Who do you hunger in this great unknown? Memories of me will fade soon & you'll find someone new See everyone halo bright in beauty See everyone arrayed for you to try You're not alone in being alone Six billion people — one of them's right for you Who do you mean when you change your tone? Who do you dream of when you're half asleep with one eye open? You'll become your life soon & I won't be in your way See everyone halo bright in beauty See everyone arrayed for you to try You're not alone in being alone Six billion people - one of them's right for you Who do you see when you stare into space? Who do you seek out in cyberspace? See everyone halo bright in beauty See everyone arrayed for you to try You're not alone in being alone Six billion humans - one of them's right for you |
Nightcore – Dam Dadi Doo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is SOO addicting... it's amazing. That one part "Never tell me what is wrong/'cause now is time to be alone" sounds more like "People, tell me what is wrong/'cause now it's time to be alone" to me. |
Imogen Heap – Useless Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Oh man, was I totally out of it back then? What she's saying in between the "To begin again" parts are "Suffer/Hatred/etc". It's just formatted oddly here. |
Ne-Yo – Closer Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's catchy. I really like it... the lyrics here are a bit off though. This seems a little closer: *-- Closer...x4 Turn the lights off in this place And she shines just like a star And I swear I know her face I just don`t know who you are Turn the music up in here I still hear her loud and clear Like she`s right there in my ear Telling me that she wants To own me, to control me Come closer... (come closer...) Come closer... And I just can`t pull myself away Under her spell I can't break I just can't stop, I just can't stop I just can't stop, I just can't stop And I just can`t bring myself away But I don`t want to escape I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can`t stop I can feel her on my skin I can taste her on my tongue Shes the sweetest taste of sin The more I get the more I want She wants to own me... Come closer... She says, "Come closer.." And I just can`t pull myself away Under her spell I can't break I just can't stop, I just can't stop I just can't stop, I just can't stop And I just can`t bring myself away But I don`t want to escape I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can`t stop Come closer... x7 I just can`t stop, noo I just can`t stop, noo I just can`t stop, noo I just can`t stop noo... And I just can`t pull myself away Under her spell I can't break I just can't stop, I just can't stop I just can't stop, I just can't stop And I just can`t bring myself away But I don`t want to escape I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can`t stop And I just can`t pull myself away Under her spell I can't break I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can't stop (I just can't stop) I just can't stop Come closer.... |
Lyfe Jennings – S.E.X. Lyrics | 16 years ago |
RIP Lala... Self-explanatory, but 17 and finally hitting puberty? Attracting men without trying and knowing why? 17 sounds waay too old. How about subtracting 3, 4 years... |
Imogen Heap – Not Now But Soon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well, it ended differently than I thought it would based on the previews, I do love the music though, and the sounds of immi running is awesome :3 If I had been listening to this from the complete cd, I'm afraid it would've got the "Closing In" treatment - that is, it's not a bad song and the lyrics are interesting (not much up for interpretation, but hey it was for a show!), but I feel it would've been overshadowed by more standout tracks -- it happened for me on S4Y with Closing In (and Daylight Robbery for the matter) After you come down from the high of your favorite tracks, you start to appreciate songs like this. Luckily, this song has come out before the cd, so people will have time to warm up to it and let immi tweeking it more if she wished to do so. |
Mirah – La Familia Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I see it more like she likes this person and wants to stay close, like to the point of being considered almost (if not) family. So she's wondering 'would sex make you stay?' And I happen to hear the Guy Sigworth remix of this first, and I have to say... that guy is a genius. She already had amazing vocals, but with his music, it just made the song incredible. Props to both! |
Seals & Crofts – Summer Breeze Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I remember when I first heard this song.. a few years back on a commercial where this chic kept taking off shirts and another was right under it. It use to piss me off xD But yeah, this song makes me yearn for summer, even though its my least favorite season. It reminds me of those semi decent days of sitting on the porch with a fan or two blowing on hi cause the AC's broke or sitting in the garage with the door up eating ice cream straight from the box and reading, or watching the sunset on the porch with a person and a popsicle. Those were the days.. |
Imogen Heap – I Am in Love with You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
And I dunno about anyone else, but I always see a Pimp version of Immi in my head at the beginning - pimp stick and all! xD |
Miley Cyrus – See You Again Lyrics | 16 years ago |
As my first Hannah Montana song aside from the show opening, I was surprised at how catchy it is. Self explanatory, and cute. I wish her voice was stronger though... |
Kate Havnevik – Crazy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think it's quite self-explanatory except.. "Crazy/How time can make you change/Still deep inside/You're just the same" is that a good thing or bad thing, to be just the same? That time has changed? |
Natasha Bedingfield – Pocketful of Sunshine Lyrics | 16 years ago |
VERY catchy and self-explanatory. I'm so glad she resung it for the Sims game -- I'll actually listen to some of the simlish music instead of my own. |
Röyksopp – Only This Moment Lyrics | 16 years ago |
My personal take on this is similar to ilvive's -- just replace the 'two people who weren't suppose to fall in love' with 'soul mates who feel the connection, but are still unsure' -- however I do like the idea of 2 people defying fate and going for it anyway! I've seen alot of variations for these lyrics and I believe these are the most correct with one exception. What I'd change is: "Clouds in my head have been parted with grace By the voices of an angel revealing her face and her words they make sense 'n' I do understand Falling in love isn't part of a plan" to "Guilt in my head hath been parted with grace By the voice of an angel revealing her face And her words they make sense and I do understand, Falling in love isn’t part of a plan" |
Kate Havnevik – So:Lo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ah, I've finally got this :3 It sounds like a couple has broken up on terms of not really 'breaking up', but allowed to see other people while they're 'giving each other space'. That's fine and dandy, but unfortunately she really just wants to be with him. She's seen all the potential love affairs that could happen, but she only wants him. |
Crystal Kay – Kirakuni Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Love the chorus... very catchy. I think the meaning is very clear, no? Slow down, chill out, no stresses, kay? |
Kate Havnevik – Soon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This sounds like a sleepy song to me, yet no matter how tired I am, it keeps me awake! Sounds like a person giving a little prayer-like message to their love while also praying to get back home. |
Kate Havnevik – Someday Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This version is definitely better than just sticking "sleepless" lyrics up here! :) However, I think the lyrics are a bit off: "So strange, a fire" --> "So strange, your fire" "But if you keep believes" --> "But if you keep at ease" "Someway, someway." --> "So brave... so brave" "One day, one day." --> Personally I just can't hear "One day". It sounds more like "And I" That being said, like "nowhere warm" I could hear this song in a movie or musical, the end beinga reprise. Basic message is to hang in there and you'll find someone. Don't be desperate =) |
Imogen Heap – Useless Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I want to know what she's saying too - there's always a certain part in her iMeg songs that I like so much I'm willing to give the entire song another chance, right when I was about to give up, and that part is it in this song. Now I almost forget why I was turned off by it once. The ending and the "I am your whore..." parts are my faves as well. |
Alicia Keys – Piano & I Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love Moonlight Sonata, so beautiful, yet haunting... mix it with Alicia keys and it's magic :3 Love this ♥♥♥ |
Enrique Iglesias – Tired Of Being Sorry Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song as well, even if it's on a cheater :P I applaud the ANTM girls - that version of the video was so great~! |
Ashlee Simpson – Lala Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Lyrics aren't hard to figure out :p From a distance, this song isn't bad and the lyrics are intriguing... but when you listen to it with some good headphones, she sounds a little hoarse. Decent song overall. |
Kate Havnevik – Suckerlove Lyrics | 16 years ago |
No comments? I kind of like this song. it's pretty straightforward and the music is just gorgeous but... I don't care for the chorus ;P |
