The Antlers – French Exit Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Everyone I've loved Kept me tangled in my heart We'll tie that knot a bit too loose Not enough to tease apart (come on) |
The Antlers – French Exit Lyrics | 12 years ago |
Everytime we meet You are shrinking in my ear If I don't take you somewhere else You're gonna make this insincere (come on) |
I Blame Coco – Self Machine Lyrics | 13 years ago |
"Pixel lost," not "pic so lost." |
The Antlers – Epilogue Lyrics | 14 years ago |
You're wrong. |
Chuck Ragan – Symmetry Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is amazing. It certainly seems full of regret for a failed relationship, but there's something more to it that I can't put into words. |
John Frusciante – The Will to Death Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Where I normaly only have my left headphone plugged in I only get the music, no vocals at all, and sometimes its gear to just put this song on repeat and hear the melody again and again and again...." Try the right headphone, Ataxiarn. You get the vocal, bass, and solo. You can even hear John turning the pages of his lyrics and asking the engineer to adjust tracks for him. |
Matt Nathanson – Come On Get Higher Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Just saw Matt last night at Hotel Cafe playing all new material and he introduced the song saying he can't go into the real meaning on the radio because the stations get fined, so he explains it as: "Did you ever eat a bowl of ice cream that was just the best fucking ice cream you've ever eaten? And it's so good it makes your teeth hurt and you can't stop eating it and you just want to pull that ice cream's hair and slap its ass and really bruise it up and make it hurt a little bit. That's what this song's about. I think I just wrote an R. Kelly song." |
Chris Cornell – Your Soul Today Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree; this is probably the best song on the album for me. Although I really like the melody on "Killing Birds" and "Arms Around Your Love" also. |
Matt Nathanson – Come On Get Higher Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is my favorite Nathanson song. At first it seems like a simple "I miss you" song but there's a lot of religious imagery here that makes me wonder if he's getting at something regarding faith and spirituality. |
Matt Nathanson – Bulletproof Weeks Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Incredible song. One of Matt's best. A few lines here stand out to me: "What happened to thinking the world was flat?" "I'm talking to what's left of you/watching what I say" and "just hoping the right words will come" I think this is about finding out more about someone and realizing maybe it won't work, or realizing you love them but you're not in love with them. A lot of Matt's tunes have a theme of some sort of romantic yet melancholy realization. This one seems no different. Or maybe they just made the mistake of asking each other how many people they'd slept with before each other. That'll always do it. |
The Frames – Santa Maria Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The live version of this song on "Set List" is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Glen has mentioned he wrote this because of an album he listened to quite a bit...I don't remember the artist...but I think it was titled "Music for Egon Schiele." |
