although most of the metaphorical "lime tree" statemenst seem to make sense, one can't help but think that he may have actually encountered a lime tree in his journey. in the very beginning of the album, one of the interviewed psycics mentions mentions fate related monuments. she says that "you may come acrossed a rock or a mountain or whatever and then you'll find the answers that you seek" i think that this statement forshadows and helps to interpret the meaning of "lime tree". conor may have actually encountered a lime tree in his journey, became touched by it and its meaning, translated that meaning into a life experience that he had, then wrote a song about it. i think the lime tree itself is very real and should not be limited to metaphor(not necessarily saying anyone said that but still...) just a thought |
