This is the "depressing" version of Earth Blues. I believe what Jimi's referring to is the same thing he's referring to in House Burning Down. The fact that the black community was fighting for their rights, but at the same time destroying their own communities and killing eachother. And the fact that they could never seem to achieve that goal, reaching up but not quite touchin the promised land. And he's feeling down cause he wants to help but he doesn't know how. He's askin his brothers to help him, and not worry about the chaos that's around them.
And while all this is happening, UFO's are pointing and laughing. My 2 cents. |

This is a beautiful song. It sounds like it could be about a prostitute, or more likely given Jimi's lifestyle, a groupie. Either way the song is about some kind of one night stand. I dunno. Good vibes Jimi, good vibes. |

"Bold as Love"; Love is bold, love is bright, love is euphoric. To be as bold as love might as well be in love, since when you're in love you're usually bold. Ribbons, colors, all his/your emotions sorted into colors. It's genius, this guy was either really bright or really high. Either way he could definitely tear it up on the guitar, that's for damn sure. |

This song is clearly about love, and what a fine way to say it. This is probably one of Jimi's shortest songs lyrically, but definitely among his other beautiful ballads like "One Rainy Wish", "May This Be Love" and "Angel". Proves that so much can be said in so little. |

This song reminds me of of love, or someone lost. It's a really beautiful ballad and the guitar work is stunning, even for Trower. Right up there with some of Jimi's stuff (Little Wing, May This Be Love etc.) |
