I agree with everybody this song is utterly amazing & breathtaking. The lyrics and the music just flow so beautifully together. Am I right in thinking the reference to november is the anniversary of a death? 'To the day that marks that you're not here' This is the song that echoes through my head everyday. |

"Depression's all I get from philosophy" I think this line kind of sums up the feeling of the first few stanzas. It's like you get to this point of over-analysing life and coming to the realisation that even a basic survival instinct is selfish. And if there really was an answer to all the questions posed, would it feel like a resolution or an unaccomplished ending? But then it's like, you get these amazing emotions like butterflies and being at live shows and the feelings everything evokes, and that makes it seem worth it. And then you can finally come to terms with your mortatlity, your time is over but hey, it's okay. This is just the cycle of life, and new things will grow from your remains. I don't know, there's probably a bunch of more specific symbolism and irony, but this is just a broad outline of what these lyrics make me think about. |
