Blackfield – Lullaby Lyrics | 15 years ago |
strangely, i always imagined the adult showing violence to the child as being the mother. i do not know why, this has just always been the impression i get. maybe because it is even more heart breaking if it is the mother, rather than the father? |
The Presidents of the United States of America – Last Girl On Earth Lyrics | 15 years ago |
These lyrics are great (: I think that on one hand, they are really funny, he is only with this girl because: 'I'm lazy, so I'll love you for a while.' Even though she is awful, she is ugly. But on the other hand, when he leaves her he realises that actually...she might not have been that bad. 'I can't help wondering. I can't help thinking. Could she had been the last girl on earth?' So perhaps he regrets his decision, and misses her? |
Amplifier – Live Human Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The extra song tacked onto the end of this song; (though i am not sure about all of it..) I wish we could be vampires Let the sun set us on fire I've got your picture on the flyer That's on my wall I like to think I'm solid stone I need to spend my time alone So while I feel you in my bones With your hands on my soul Hows about that me and you Forgot this life to start anew? Like two scarecrows that upped and flew Flew...far away Never got to see much sun Been stuck in darkness far too long And where have all our twenties gone? Well, its difficult to see We never seem to play that song We never seemed to care Only ever seem to care, that's all it seemed That's all it seemed And more than just amphetamine And wanting to be Steve McQueen In the one that had the car chase scene Through San Francisco My need for you could become such That I could love you far too much And lose the pain I need to touch Yes, it's all I know It's all I know, but it's all i know You're my echo but here It's all I know And fuck the money we made And let the words drop off the page And let the music be my cage And let it be yours I really had to be at mind And feel the need to speak my mind You think that we're two of a kind What could ever be? Could we ever be, my dear? Could we ever be? Will we ever be, my dear? Will we ever be? Could we ever be, my dear, Well What could we be? |

Porcupine Tree – Jupiter Island Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Linton Samuel Dawson and Jupiter Island seem to go hand in hand...they have the same kind of sound and weird trippy lyrics. Bearing in mind that Linton Samuel Dawson spells out LSD, I think that Jupiter Island kind of describes a trip. Also, in Footprints, there are references to The Beatles' Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds [tangerine trees and marmalade skies, etc...] Again. LSD. I think its all about the drugs =] |
Porcupine Tree – Shesmovedon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Sorry The_Sleeper...but I thought I would add...the song title is shesmovedon, which is why the line 'she's moved on' is rushed. It is sang like that so it fits in with the title. Great song, love it =] |
Blackfield – Christenings Lyrics | 16 years ago |
well just to add what i think...i hear 'vodka in the morning' =] |
Blackfield – Lullaby Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is about child abuse, with the references to violence and smashing his toys....and the title of course relates to a child. The overall sound of the song to me sounds kind of innocent and helpless also. =] |
Porcupine Tree – And the Swallows Dance Above the Sun Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Once i had this song blaring out with the door open, and i had forgotten about that crucial last line....i recieved some rather strange looks from my neighbours after that =] |
Porcupine Tree – Start of Something Beautiful Lyrics | 17 years ago |
'Something in your heart so cruel' kind of suggests that maybe she led him along a bit and didnt feel what she said she did, or wasnt in love with him as he is with her....('Cold inside my arms you are') . He thought it was the start of something beautiful, yet it was nothing to her. 'the less I find you give a damn' |
Porcupine Tree – Nine Cats Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think that the 'golden dragons' are yellow JCBs, near a barbed wire fence, or 'barbed wire trees'. 'Two silver trout sat way on high' could be aeroplanes. Its kind of industriel at the start, but i have no idea what the rest means! Love it though =] |
