Jamie Foxx – Blame It Lyrics | 15 years ago |
same here! i can listen to this song on repeat all day, haha. obviously jamie's in the club, drunk, and wants to hook with a hot girl, who's also drunk. the next morning, they're going to blame it on the alcohol, so it's all good. :) |
Innerpartysystem – Last Night In Brooklyn Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i agree with cabres, i think she's the one that's getting high, and he just joins in a little to try and keep up with her. everything else has already been said. :) this is my favorite innerpartysystem song. it's beautiful in every possible way, and i could listen to it on repeat for hours. <3 |
The Secret Handshake – Wanted You Lyrics | 15 years ago |
also, 'neither of us have a clue' should be 'who does have a clue'. the myspace thing is wrong too, haha. anyways, i really love this song. he wants someone, and he's waiting for her. but he won't wait forever. :) |
Kanye West – Street Lights Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song reminds me of living in the city so much. It perfectly captures that weird feeling you get when you're walking through a big city at night by yourself, and you're just thinking about everything, and the lights are passing you by out of the corner of your eye. It's nostalgia and an odd romance and a loneliness that I can't get enough of. Fuck, I love this song. I can't stop listening to it. |
Madonna – Give It 2 Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
i won't even lie, i hate the original of this song, but i have the most kick ass remix of it that literally completes my life. :D |
Greg Laswell – Your Melody Lyrics | 15 years ago |
prettiest song in the whole world can't get a comment. this song is incredible, really powerful in it's simplicity. about being stuck on someone, for better or for worse, and not being able to get them out of your head, like a melody. his comparing the girl to a song is gorgeous. cadence - rhythmic flow of a sequence of sounds or words. dissonance - inharmonious or harsh sound; discord; cacophony. i can't stop listening to this song. |
Cobra Starship – I Kissed a Boy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
this version destroys katy perry. :]]] |
Neon Neon – I Lust U Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i'm pretty sure that where you have 'kiss you' he's saying 'curse you'. sounds that way to me, anyway. :] for some reason, in the version of this song that i have, the guy starts out the singing and the girl comes second, but when i watch the video it's the other way around. weird. the song is obviously touches on fame and celebrity, but farther then that i'm not sure. maybe famous couples? i love the line about selling photos of the newborn for the highest fee. reminds me of tom cruise selling pictures of his baby for insane amounts of money. sick stuff. |
Say Anything – Shiksa (Girlfriend) (feat. Caithlin De Marrais) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
kay, i saw say anything at warped tour on wednesday and i asked max what the correct lyrics were, because i wanted to know, lol. he said that it's 'and even if you suck me ‘til i’m sore no matter what i’m pleased to be your whore'. so, there you go. :] |
Jason Mraz – Details In The Fabric Lyrics | 16 years ago |
you guys are spot on with the meaning. this is my favorite song off the new album. it's the anthem for my summer, i adore it. go jason! :) |
Jason Mraz – A Beautiful Mess Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"Kind of turn themselves into blames" should be "Kind of turn themselves into blades". :] Anyway, I love this song dearly. It's a gorgeous song, both lyrically and musically. Another good job by Mraz. |
The Secret Handshake – Coastal Cities Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the album version is so much different then the demo. i think i like the demo more, maybe just cause i'm used to it more. but there's a whole 'nother stanza in the album version: "we're almost there it's twenty hours and we've been driving forever we're almost to the coast" that repeats a few times near the end. =] anywho, this is probably my favorite tsh song. so beautiful. i can relate - i'm from the coast and recently moved to the mideast and i hate it. i would love to pack all my stuff and just drive until i hit the ocean. |
PlayRadioPlay! – Elephants As Big As Whales Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the 'Talking crap about The Secret Handshake' cracks me up everytime i hear it. i love both bands, and, i dunno. i just picture them having an electronica battle, and i die. anyways. great song. =D |
Regina Spektor – Hell No (with Sondre Lerche) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I agree - Regina would've given it more unique and interesting lyrics if it had been written just by her. It's a cute song, though. I can picture it being played overhead at Starbucks. =] |
Nada Surf – Blankest Year Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is such a good song to listen to when the world sucks and you just want to let go of everything and dance around your living room. seriously. thank you, nada surf. |
Manchester Orchestra – I Can Barely Breathe Lyrics | 16 years ago |
what wonderful, intelligent lyrics. and the song itself...it's like a religious experience. the second effing coming. the explanations so far are dead on - live your life your way, have opinions, fight for them, be yourself, love. that's what it's all about. |
Voicst – A year and a bit Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i can't believe this doesn't have any comments, or any of their songs for that matter! i really love this song - it's my favorite by voicst. it's just very cute, and makes me think of my guy everytime i hear it. meaning: he can't help thinking about his girl, but he doesn't mind, because it makes his messy life seem a little better. lyrics: 'attack' should be 'attach', and 'al' should be 'all'. also, there's a whole stanza missing, and i would fix it, but it's really hard to make out what he's saying in a few parts. hopefully when this band makes it big, we'll get some better lyrics. =] |
Above & Beyond – Good For Me (Vocals By Zoe Johnston) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
NO COMMENTS YET? seriously guys, come on now. i totally love this song - it's always been my favorite by above & beyond. the vocals are very ethereal and calming, and the beat combined with it just has an incredibly soothing effect. the lyrics are adorable. the meaning is pretty obvious, though. there's a girl, she loves a guy, they're good for each other, and she wants to tell the world. =] |
Sufjan Stevens – That Was the Worst Christmas Ever! Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this is one of my favorite sufjan songs. i just love the banjo in this...it really amazes me how sufjan can take an instrument i usually can't stand and make it beautiful. =] |
Jason Mraz – Myspace Theme Lyrics | 16 years ago |
oh, and for those of you who haven't heard it yet: http://www.myspace.com/jasonmraz |
Jason Mraz – Myspace Theme Lyrics | 16 years ago |
what a random, but very pretty song. it's about his myspace, lol. =D |
Jason Mraz – Ms. Heather and Mr. Grey Lyrics | 16 years ago |
what a beautiful, beautiful song. the girl with the camera phone and the boy with the polaroid - perhaps a girl living in brooklyn who's in love with a boy who's not, so she takes pictures and sends them to him so he can feel like he's with her. 'she's calling Brooklyn home so he's calling Brooklyn' she lives in brooklyn, and he calls her to talk to her. when jason mentions 'ms. heather' and 'mr. grey', then describes how it's winter in adelaide, i take 'heather' and 'gray' to be colors he's using to describe what it looks like where he's at. heather is kind of a gray-ish purpley color, and gray is obviously gray, which are colors the sky turns in winter when there's clouds in the air. but that's just my take on it. =] anyone got any other ideas? |
Joseph Arthur – Exhausted Lyrics | 16 years ago |
my favorite joseph arthur song, by far. i have the live version - don't know if there's a studio version out there somewhere? - and it's just so enticing. i have to listen to the whole thing once i hear those first opening guitar chords. =] that said, supercilious is right - the meaning isn't difficult to discern. it's about a guy who's having trouble keeping cool inside his own head, who is constantly plagued by his own imagination. i can relate. the lines "Everyone i recognize Looks at me like i'm a ghost" make me wonder if his problems have perhaps changed him, and his friends and family, even mere acquaintences, no longer know who he is anymore. "Walking down these dying streets I thought i heard you call my name But it was only in my mind You were never there at all" maybe he lost someone he cared about, and continues to hear his/her voice in his head because he misses them? wonderful, amazing song, regardless. definitely worth a listen. ;] |
Iron & Wine – Naked as We Came Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i agree whole-heartedly with the people above me who have spoken of older lovers sharing a fear that one of them will die before the other. the adam and eve interpretation isn't quite romantic enough for me. ;] it's been one of my favorite songs for about a year now, ever since a now ex-boyfriend sent it to me for my birthday. it's a very sweet, tender song that completely embodies what it feels like to love someone completely. :] |
Jonas Brothers – Hello Beautiful Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song makes me weep like an eleven year old girl. =] |

Jonas Brothers – Inseparable Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is adorable. these guys have managed to put a positive spin on the boy band. and i love it. =] |
Jordin Sparks – Tattoo Lyrics | 16 years ago |
wow at the STD thing. that totally just made my day. but anywho, this song is a wonderful way to describe the reluctance in leaving a person you love behind, even when you know it's best for you. you never really forget a person who touches your heart. they stay with you always, like a tattoo. =] |
The Used – Blue And Yellow Lyrics | 16 years ago |
best song by any band, ever. :] |
Damien Rice – The Blower's Daughter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
one of my favorite songs of all time, first off. when i listen to this song, i can picture an entire storyline being played out through the words. i hear a story about a young man who is taking lessons from an older man ('a pupil in denial'), for clarinet or flute or something of that nature, and accidentally falls in love with the man's daughter. i picture him playing his instrument in the living room, the older man conducting him, and suddenly the daughter comes downstairs and catches the young man's eye ('i can't take my eyes off you'). then he leaves town to grow up and be on his own, thinking that nothing could ever happen between him and the girl, and we discover that the 'blower's daughter' loved him as well, and she is heartbroken by his departure. 'did i say that i loathe you? did i say that i want to leave it all behind?' the last stanza suggests a sad ending, a they-don't-end-up-happily-ever-after ending. but it still sounds like a nice story to me. :] |
A Fine Frenzy – Near To You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
basically, the girl is with a new guy she really likes but is still trying to get over her last relationship, and she is telling the one she's now with that she is getting better with his help, and that soon she'll be able to be completely his. haunting song, beautiful story, amazing vocals and piano. gotta love a fine frenzy. ;] |
Avril Lavigne – Contagious Lyrics | 17 years ago |
-blink- wow. comparing avril to brittany. they're really nothing alike at all, but whatever floats your boat. decent song, great album, very not brittany spears. meaning is quite obvious; about a girl who's hung up on a guy and she thinks that he's 'contagious', which is an adorable way to describe that feeling of always wanting to be around the guy you like. :] |
Bat for Lashes – Prescilla Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Find lovers and anchor before the courage is all gone" otherwise, looks good. :] beautiful song. so, meaning. about a girl named carrie? who wants to settle down, just because she feels the desire to be needed. perhaps the narrarator and 'prescilla' are talking about 'carrie', and she is trying to convince her that carrie really does love the man she's settling down with? there's probably some deeper meaning, but i can't find it. thoughts? fantastic song, either way. natasha's incredible. :] |

The Dangerous Summer – The Permanent Rain Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i'm leaning more toward the loss of parents then the loss of a girlfriend, because he mentions 'I’ve been screaming all these years and thinking of you both.', which suggests more then one person. amazing song, though. i've been listening to it for days. download link: http://www.absolutepunk.net/artists/showlink.php?l=3781&catid=searchresults&searchid=1727453 |
PlayRadioPlay! – Bad Cops Bad Charities Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah, it's most definitely 'a box for two'. i'm listening to it right now, and i dunno where you got 'prostitute' from. :] |
Sufjan Stevens – Dumb I Sound Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the phrase 'someone's suddenly my fear' is probably referring to the fear of the person who is taking away his loved one, i.e., the 'other man/woman'. that could be further implied by the line 'but you love someone else'...the whole domestic violence bit doesn't really fit. :/ |
