Panic! at the Disco – She's a Handsome Woman Lyrics 16 years ago
Do reckon that the title 'she's a handsome woman' is in reference to 'The bonfire of the Vanities' (a book by Tom Wolfe?

I agree. I do wish that they would tell stories again. Use intricate lines and encrypted meanings, maybe other songs on the album will be like that.

I agree that it could be about being high, with the strange concepts in the video (but i guess the band have strange concepts anyway) and the repetition. also the whole eyes are the size of the moon .

but i don't see how the 'looks like the end of history' part would work with being high.

and yes. the ending dos make me sad. It sounds nostalgic and reminiscent.

I don't think so. I mean. It really seems like he is describing someone else. Someone he can empathize with, but not himself.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I just feel that the way it is sung and written makes it seem like a story of someone else.

I agree it's too pure.

I think that she can no longer cope. It is a gentle way of showing how she self harms and commits suicide. It's peaceful. Like going to sleep and not waking up again.

They also make it sound fair and right. Like it's not a selfish act, it's after what everyone has done to her. He loves her, and i think that the last verse shows how he is desperate to save her because he loves her, and throughout he just wants her to hang on.

Cobra Starship – The City Is At War Lyrics 16 years ago
Here's how it goes
It about who you know
If you got money
You get in for free

i thought

great new song

Guessing it's about the people living in the city corrupting each other, and people in bad situations thinking they can find a way out with drugs but it really just running them down. The rich kids mucking round with stuff because they have so much money no one 'gives a shit'

and also ryan says it might not be on the album, and it's good that they're just experimenting.

I really don't want to sound like one of those poeple that insults a band's new work because they think it makes them look good. But the only thing i feel about this song is disappointment, it's just repetitive and there is little depth, where is the heavily buried message?

I am looking forward to see them perform in paris though, as even with this they are an all time favourite band. love them, so i'm still confident that the new stuff will be good, and i will learn to like this.

Counting Crows – Round Here Lyrics 17 years ago
She seems so mixed up that her walls are just tumbling down and the world around her is falling apart and she seems to want to take it all out on herself. She might have gone slightly crazy from carrying everything on her shoulders all the time, but she's never learnt to place it next to her instead of above her.

He is making an effort with her but she is too mixed up to straighten out her thoughts and accept help or let someone in, so he just cares for her and accepts her for what she shows on the outside, doing things like carving out their names, but not talking about her deep thoughts and what did it all to her.

She closes everyone out, placing herself in weird places like parking lots and says what she means when it all pours out and she says she wants to die and doesn't care to consider it because she is so tired of hiding how she feels, so even if what she says is ridiculous and it effects everyone around her badly she can't see through the mess to see what she's doing so she does it anyway.

I think it describes how someone is just so buried with her and everyone else's and the worlds problems that she can hardly see out. she keeps things all in herself so no one notices her from anyone else (contrast of white on white) but then she starts to do things throughout the song that seems crazy, but she has only done this because she can't see out and she doesn't care, it's like a blind man trying to dance around a cluttered room, if they are going to do it it will look strange, but if a normal did it no one would think much of it. The way she does things is different from everyone else because she can't understand anymore, what she does seems to enchant everyone else because, she is more than just a little misunderstood.

and i have sort of just described myself there. but yeah.

the book is the most amazing thing i ever read, it goesso deep, and i can relate to the main character in such a big way because of things that have happened, are happening and things that are getting a hell of a lot worse for me now. this song makes total sense, but without reading the book i can't really see how anyone can udnerstand it.

i love this way they have the photographer in the head say give me envy, give me malice etc.

"Can't you see me? Can't you see my walls are tumbling down?"
"Can't you see my walls are crumbling down?"
"Can't you see my sun stop spinning 'round?"
"Can't you see the sky turn black and brown?"
"Can't you see the moon is flashing round?"
"Can't you see me? Can't you see me? Can't you see me?"
No.

i love how they added in this part, i wish that the origional had this in, i can relate to it so much.

jese its like this song was written about me, i know tons of poeple have already said this. but the whole

Step out the front door like a ghost
into the fog where no one notices
the contrast of white on white.

bit i can so feel, it scares me. but i love it.
