i think it might just be a demo, i couldn't find it anywhere else i've heard so many covers of this song, i agree that leonard's is the best, but i really love the piano solo towards the end, right before she sings the last verse it's an interesting variation i haven't heard in any of the other covers, like rufus wainwright's. it doesn't even sound like the same song, but i really like that about her version. |

i love this song too i feel like she might be talking about bob dylan, who she says is one of her influences. firstly, it's played on guitar and not piano, which is rare for regina and bob always uses guitar. secondly, some of the rhymes are commonplace in his songs-especially in that "ah you leave me.." verse i could just be making this up since i love bob dylan and it's wishful thinking that yet another person could write a tribute song to him/about him..but that's the first thing i thought of when i heard this song |
