Streetlight Manifesto – Day In, Day Out Lyrics 16 years ago
Day In Day Out

This song is about repetitive tasks that he has to do to get by that strangle him, then you look at certain social scenes, where kids are bitching over nothing. They don't know how to do anything by themselves, this song has a lot of independence to it. Pretty much it's the fact that Tom is starting to get into the rhythmic pattern of society and it's people, but hell if he leaves himself like that, he'll never be alone in the world, which sounds extremely sarcastic, or it could be him getting over the fact of the matter.

This song is great "I don't need a music scene to tell me who I am!" So true, people determine there scene by what and who they listen too. I love Streetlight and Catch 22 but I'm no "Ska head" or "punk" it's just the music I like.

Maybe there is a love story looking back on it, maybe he lost a girl to a music scene that killed her individualism. Either way great fucking song.

I like the 9/11 thing, it sounds like since the towers fell we started to listen to the Bush administration. The line "I'm sick of waiting for someone else to come", sounds like he's saying he is sick of waiting out the years until Bush is out. Pretty much no matter what bullshit we are told by him, and how we are restricted with a lot of the new bills passed (patriot act for example) we get back up again and start again as a country, but it's hard to see that in our war torn and terrorized state.

Well personally I think that a lot of people are products of our society, it's not a healthy thing. I mean if a kid is ostracized since a child, and is always picked on, he will loose compassion.

This song is a little depressing to the point were I want to go out and cause a protest. I mean this song is basically showing what our future holds for us, overpopulation, the rich winning, and people being drove further apart.

Razed brings up a good point, it makes more since to think that it's a father giving up something to save his kids life in a surgery. DKM have always been a great band, singing about unions, people dying for a greater cause, etc.

Bad Religion – Honest Goodbye Lyrics 17 years ago
True it is wrote about "In Cold Blood".

If you notice each verse is different the first paragraph is clearly about Hickock, as for the second being about Smith. The chorus seems to be the interrogation, when they say it feels like an honest goodbye, they admitted being the Killers, but they did not want to die lairs.

Smith's paragraph makes him seem like he is a victim of society brushing him off and picking at him, most of us can relate to such things. As for Hickock the interrogator makes him seems like a 100% violent and angry human being, which was most likely not true considering is bringing he was intelligent. He could have been something if society had given him a chance, same with Smith.

Hm, is it me or does this kind of sound like Dirty Magic, not with the cord structure, just with how the song feels and comes out.

Well from the viewpoint I see it. It seems that they mean that if you follow who gives you a reason, they will end up making you blind to you're original cause.

Bad Religion – Empty Causes Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah sam seems to be correct, but the last line sounds very metaphorical. He says that it's not a bad thing to have empty causes, everyone has one, most are different. It seems kind of sad too see peoples ideas like stated "fuck the goverment", die out with age but thats how it goes, so don't regret it.

Corrosion they did sell out, they moved from Epiteth to Warner Records, for financial gain. That is defined as selling out.

Anyways the message is pretty easy to understand if you listen to they lyrics. There is really no reason to be "trendy" for one it has no value to say you were more popular than someone else. It is pointless to try and the same as everyone else, that leads to a boring and insinuating live style.
