Sondre Lerche – Modern Nature Lyrics 17 years ago
People like "magenta cricket" or "og tool" are morons. This song is about STRAIGHT love. That is why there is a man and woman duet. Can't you people put two and two together? I mean, I have nothing against gays but this by far is not a "gay or homosexual song." One part of the song has Lillian singing , "Do you have the slightest idea?" to Sondre and follows after his reply with an obvious reluctant whisper, "Why the world is bright when you're in it." Obviously this song is about what "newamusements" and others said; it's about heterosexual love,-NOTE, HETERO-sexual love. Anyway, basically this song is a catchy duet about two seemingly pleutonic lovers trying to break out of their comfort zone to confess their feelings to each other. In the end of the song, it is concluded and revealled that their shells and barriers have been broken as they seem to hum "to doo doo dum, to doo doo dum" repeatedly into the sunset. A well coordinated, well sung, well written, and well played song. Probably the best duet I have ever heard in my life.

excuse my grammatical error it was "outwardly," not "utterwardly."

Besides the fact that a lot of these posted lyrics are incorrect, I still have feelings for "Afterall." This is probably the greatest "Sondre-esque" song of "Phantom Punch." The reason for this is that the song weaves a ballad about a man or boy falling in love quickly with a girl or woman. Now mind you that this love is not "Romeo and Juliet-esque," where Romeo fell in love just because Juliet was utterwardly beautiful,-no, this song is about true and seemingly unconditional love from the male narrator's perspective. The song stretches through the romance between the lovers which begins with the implied first date: "I hold back my heart's crazy rambling,-the fear that I should overwhelm your smile frightens the spiders inside me." However as the song progresses, the romance between the two begins to diminish. The male narrator tells that the girl is not sure if she feels the same way as he,-there brings tension. The song ends in a melancholy note where the protagonist is on the verge of telling the girl his true feelings but does not because he fears failure. Instead of doing anything about his current relationship with his lover, he decides to sit back and reminisce about their love "from a distance." Feeling that the joy that he had from their union is broken, he believes the only way to feel the "magic" again is by looking back in the past and reliving his joy with her through memories. A truly tragic but beautiful song. Sondre seems to have a hint of optimism in his tone which may imply that there maybe some hope for him "afterall."

Sondre Lerche – Days That Are Over Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is a great well rounded song that not only has a great beat and musical qualities that round up to a song from the Beatles' Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. This song means a lot to me. Sondre Lerche has my favorite artist for some time now and by far this song ranges up there among his best. Sondre croons and sings about life changing before his eyes and how he or the narrator struggles to change make things as they were before. I think anyone can relate to this song. I love the line where he sings:
"When it come to letting go
Let the quicksand flow
When I write it in the sand
There is something wronnnnnnnggggggggggg..."
Absolutely amazing how his voice drags and makes the song even more utterly appealling. Although this song seems strictly reminiscent, it has its romantic values. A true gem.

Sondre Lerche – (You Knocked Me) Off My Feet Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is probably the most romantic song on Duper Sessions. A great slow and smooth ballad that is basically about a man or boy who was a pessimist in life and most likely in love,-that was until he met this dreamgirl that is seemingly from Heaven itself. In the song he basically prides himself in saying that he is saved from "a future in hell" and that this girl that he is in love with is changing his life with her luminous purity. An amazing song.
