This song is so good. he performs it with such a haunting tone. i have never heard the original but would like to. his great vocals are really heard in the line 'will spend her life alone'. beautiful |

i love this song its so great. i think its a little blunt to say its about alcoholism in fairness its about more than that. its about love and loss and i love his desciption of the person 'sharp as a razor and soft as a prayer' its just a great song altho i love all his stuff |

this song is so beautiful, full jeff song i ever heard altho it was the grave version. i agree with the tonagamu, this version is much more emotional and intense. the lyrics are much more about his willingness to give the world for one touch, or kiss or a night sleeping beside her again. it is about love unending and more powerful than anything else. i think we can all relate to that in one way or another |

i only recently heard this song despite having this album for about a year now. i think its very beautiful and caguht my attention from the first note. this may be me but there is a hint in the melody in the very beginning that makes it sound like hes about to go into 'i put a spell on you' its got this painful, desperate sound that is so intense and to me it feels as though maybe he is letting go of someone he loves finally accpeting he has lost her 'and we will feel the weight fall away from us in time' |
