the hot chip idea is interesting, particularly that hot chip has a song called "over and over" which matches up with the over and over part of this song, still im not sure what to think. theres not much to go off of, its still a great great song though, one of my faves and im really not a fan at all of hot chip, i dont think either of them sound alike |

although it seems like this song can seem like its about sex, i dont think it is due to the fact its about two gus, judging from the "blood type" part. the way the song is written and the language used makes me believe its some sort of inside joke, no doubt though, this song is incredibly badass. for everyone who knows and listens to the unicorns, go find their unreleased stuff, its just as good as their album, their live shows are also worth downloading and sometimes that might be your only option at getting unreleased songs |

effing beautiful song! it took me awhile to think of a logical meaning of this song, due to the hilarity of the main line, but i think it does actually have meaning to it, but im probably totally wrong. so i thought it was about leaving old, bad sexual relationships where they belong. forget them and never let them get to you or become more than something "in your underwear". idk. i tried. not sure what kick's part means, and i dont speak french either. |

i agree completely with musicman. but i think i figured out the main message of the song, and its all in one beautiful line. im thinking that "they want me raw and smooth like glass, they want it fast but they dont want flaws" refers to a majority of women who want the "perfect" guy. it kinda smirks at the bull**** statement that guys love w/ their eyes and girls their hearts first. girls are just like guys and want to be with someone hot and attractive. the "girls best friend line" is kinda obvious so ill let that go, and basically nick, its nick whos the singer right?, says im a rough gem, meaning hes not perfect and he likes it that way |

WHAT! First comment!?! I thought Our Bovine Public was best off the new album, but My Life Flashed Before My Eyes is in close contention. This is a brilliant song, but I had really hard time trying to decipher these lyrics. I'm pretty sure the song has something to do with judging, and that he doesn't care what people think of him. You know how there are those people who think their word is law and that what they say about people can make or break a person's reputation; I know i'm flipping the lyrics around but; Do you think I'd mind if my life flashed before my eyes, NO!. He doesn't care what people say or think. |

TPC is such a breath of fresh air. They have such a unique sound. I'm surprised there aren't that many comments on this song, I think it's their best. Be Good has the catchiest bass line ever, and the "Hey,hey!"s at the end are so freaking awesome. tinkerbell is spot on. this song actually speaks alot about my job. I bag groceries at a local grocery store and one of my duties is to carry out people's groceries to customer's cars and on the way i have to engage in one of these crap-filled conversations that meantime is about. The singer would really hate to have my job since i usually work 4 to 8 hours 5 days a week and get into "false conversations" about every 3 minutes. The only reason I still have the jobis because $8.10 an hour is pretty good for a highschool job. |

this is one of the most beautiful songs ever written. I agree with mirandaetc in which lyrics shouldn't drive your feelings for a song. Mercer's contrast of Ben's lyrics pertaining to nucear fallout with a cheerful guitar riff only make the song that much more enjoyable. This is a damn happy tune and one hell of a cover song. |

This is the kind of music that is destroying America. In the world of music there are two parts that make up a song. The first part is the actual "music" part of the song, you know, instruments. There is absolutely no musical quality to rap, whatsoever. Making music is spending time mastering an instrument and writing the music yourself, not having some random person make up a beat on Fruity Loops in 5 minutes. However, it is the lyrics which are the most destructive. As TV and movies convey sex and drugs, rap ties the knot. Little boys and girls are becoming more and more influenced to sell themselves(girls, literally)out to be more like rappers;"get rich or die trying". What the hell is that supposed to mean? There's more to life than money and fame, and people who can't see that are pretty damn insecure. People need to stop trying to impress others and be themselves. I'd really want to hear what 50 cent would have to say to his child or grandchild when they ask him what his songs are about. Not only is rap conveying a terrible message to people, but also dumbs people down too. According to rappers, grammar doesn't matter if you've got a big house and a ton of cash. Don't worry, you still sound like f****** morons. I know that there is some rap out there that DOES convey a good message or story, and I'd like to see more of it instead of the shit that gets played through the radio. Oh yeah, and for all those guys who call other guys fags because we don't like listening to music that's about sex, it's just that we appreciate women more than you do. Cheers to the ladies! Dont' succomb to rap. You're better than that! |
