it's like we lived the same life lol. everything you described is what i had been experiencing. we didn't go to the same school or live in the same area (he lived close to an hour away) and so i hardly saw him. it was my ringtone for him as well and his was "she is" by the fray. i hope everything is still going good for you guys :) |

This is a great song. It is about a man who has commited a murder and a preacher who seeks to save his soul. It's a good story but I can't figure out the ending; I find it hard to interperate the last three lines: "The preacher holds him down where his feet won't reach the ground. And he waits for judgement to come. Yes he waits for the Lord's will to be done." |

Story of my life. I had been on and off with the same boy for almost 4 years and during the times we weren't together there'd be another boy. He told me to listen to this song one night and I fell in love with it. Listening to the lyrics made me realize how he felt. "So many people gonna say that they want you...but there's nothing like the warmth of the one who has put in the time and you know he's gonna be there." I had never appreciated him as much as I did after listening to this song.
My favorite line:
"The heart can't erase once it finds a place to be warm and welcome, to be held in shelter."

Wow. I thought I knew the lyrics but I didn't. The meaning of the song has completely changed lol. I interpreted it as woman's longing for an old lover and her desire to be in that presence and comfort of that familiar person. I felt that this song was a source of reassurement for this woman. You will always have a place in your heart for your first love (vice versa) and that's what I thought this song was about. |

I'm going through the exact opposite. My ex, whom I still love, has moved on quicker than I expected leaving me completely heart-broken. This song gives me hope for the future - I look forward for the day when I will be able to roll on to something good. |

i get butterflies listening to this song. the best part is when he says: "you've begun to feel like home" it describes the emotions you feel when in a relationship in one word. in the electric factory version, they end the song by adding another song- you are so beautiful by joe cocker. it's my favorite version |
