Enigma – Beyond The Invisible Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The non-English parts are followed by their meanings. I don't know quite what it means, the English part seems like gibberish but the Lithuanian part seems to make more sense. If I was asked to take a guess I'd say it was a song either about following God or a song about drugs, the whole following and you'll see beyond reality thing. |
12 Stones – World So Cold Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Just a question out of curiosity, I know they don't specifically write all their songs to be Christian in meaning, but like somebody said about another of their songs, maybe as a Christian you can read things differently. But do you think they sometimes hide a Christian meaning within their songs, even though the song as a whole is about something else? In this song the example would be: "A stain covers your heart, and tears you apart" "An innocent child with a thorn in his heart" "We all must be dreaming his life away In a world so cold" The stain in this case obviously representing sin and the innocent child being Jesus, the thorn being his crucifixion(crown of thorns) and who is the he whose life we are dreaming away if the song is about the state of the world? Just curious, preferably if you reply directly to my comment please state what religion you are (or atheist if you be). I'd prefer to have comments by both religious and non religious, Christian and non-Christian. |
12 Stones – This Dark Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Lol not to do with the song but it always makes me laugh how in comments people refer to the person singing it as the person who has experienced it, I do it to. I just find it funny. I'm not accusing anybody. But anyway we don't know he experienced it. |
12 Stones – It Was You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Well to me it is talking about God, because: "I’m so sorry bout the ways BUT I can’t take away my past But u love me anyway And now I want to do everything for you I can Even though I know it can’t erase the foolish things that I’ve done Things that blinded me Now I see it was you that showed me who I am And taught me how to stand for what I know is real And now I’m BREATHING for the first time And I’m leaving all this behind And I’ll stand for what I know is real" Just because in order for it to be about a relationship, it would have to be one with somebody who has known you for a very long time in order to actually be involved in the stuff you did in your past, and actually have to forgive you for them. And I can't think of anybody than can show how to never have a doubt, I don't think that is humanly possible, maybe never have a doubt about certain things but not about everything, I mean no human can make you have no doubt in everything you do. And breathing for the first time to me means starting to see what is real. It could be about a human relationship but I think it is about a relationship with God, who knows maybe they were cunning and deliberately made it so it could be both. |
12 Stones – The Way I Feel Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is probably one of their most blatant songs about God seeing as it says: "The world I know is pulling me More and more each day I feel like the odd man out as I begin to pray Spiteful eyes are watching me With everything I do In the midst of darkness Lord My spirit calls for you" In other words the world around him is trying to make him like everybody else (yes I know there is no the same but there is always a popular type of person), and as a Christian he feels like an odd one out when he starts praying (probably for strength to resist the pull of the world), and lots of people hate Christians (as we have recently seen in America with the slaughter) hence spiteful eyes are watching me, and last of all the most blatant section "In the midst of darkness Lord my spirit calls for you" I think is pretty self explanatory. |
Modest Mouse – Ocean Breathes Salty Lyrics | 16 years ago |
lol is a pity my entire beliefs are being insulted here, I like the song. but I think I like it just coz is a good tune, i never really knew what the words were. |
Thirteen Senses – Into The Fire Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think possibly the bit that says Turning white and sense dire Pull up, pull up From one extreme to another, it seems to say to me turning white as in with fear, and pull up because life is going down, but when you do pull up instead of becoming normal you just go the exact opposite, like messing things up making life scary, to just almost withdrawing. Sounds weird I know but yeah. |
Sixpence None the Richer – Angeltread Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Ye it definitely is a Christian song, Sixpence none the richer are a Christian band, lol I know what not being about to stay calm is like, something I think every Christian experiences at some point, fear of their faith collapsing or not being strong/passionate enough |
Kutless – Take Me In Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'd like to know what take the coal means, what coal? It's true though it just stirs up your passion. |
Sixpence None the Richer – Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I would suggest this is a biblical song, 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. I would say "You" is Jesus as it says searching for union of death and then rebirth. And the suggestion somebody must die to create a new beginning is totally the crucifixion and resurrection. |
Snow Patrol – Run Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I personally don't see it about a break up where one dumps the other because they are both sad, it seems more like a "I have to move away" break up, or just saying good bye to somebody you've shared so much of your life with and become so close to |
Keane – Nothing In My Way Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It probably is about a couple that has split and one wont admit it has hurt them, but I can see it as just two people who care about each other, seeing as a lot of people who just care experience a time where one is obviously going through a rough patch but wont admit it |
Imogen Heap – Speeding Cars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Ok has anybody else noticed this, it sounds like she is saying "It's none of my business" at about 2mins 20 seconds into the song? |
Imogen Heap – Speeding Cars Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah I think rineay and ABCDEmily both have it kind of right, I think if it isn't about a friend it at least fits at least it fits for me I've seen plenty of my friends "winding down" and I know I thought "you can't keep on like this". But it does make sense that the paper cuts are small thing n cheating lovers is big, but I think its more rather than saying stop moaning its a kind of yeah things are bad but you can get better. Lol the only thing this song unfortunately doesn't deal with is that even if you see your friend winding down they might not, and there's nothing you can do about it. |
