Mason Proper – Lock and Key Lyrics

"better" how? the mixing on the album was superb in my opinion. if you mean a more prominent, famous producer or mixer, then you might be right. but then again, mason proper is a hit to me... |

they're similar but it doesn't sound anything like an outright ripoff.
and you're saying that like artists never copy each other and expand on past ideas. |

The Fall of Troy – Quarter Past Lyrics

It could be about a girl. It could be about a drug. It could be about a girl becoming like a drug.
If the girl becomes like a drug, according to the lyrics, "I" throws "her" out the window which leads me to think that the song is purely about drugs.
If it's about drugs, he goes to his window to smoke (I'm assuming - "sing you to sleep"). |

The Fall of Troy – The Dark Trail Lyrics

It's kindof depressing finding out that a lot of my favorite bands' songs have direct drug references - not just TFOT.
After that explanation, it makes a whole lotta sense. I'm assuming the "put down your books" part is dropping out of school to smoke. But what's with the moon (1st, 2nd lines)? |

The Fall of Troy – A Man. A Plan. A Canal. Panama Lyrics

ugh.. I got my cd yesterday and I really wanted to be the first to post them up. :[ I'm glad they're here though.
I never noticed that the title was palindromic or whatever... very cool.
I think the song is basically a relationship gone wrong. Well I doubt they were in a relationship from how the song goes, but maybe something physical or some other close association. |

Brand New – Degausser Lyrics

Guys. She burns bright. Things are attracted to light. But like any light source she requires energy - batteries. He's slipping/sleeping (doesn't really matter) in the alkaline.
Now with degausser, it's not a literal "losing charge" but more of a magnetic charge... so he probably means that he lost interest in her? Or also that he's been spent.
The "he's" and "her's" I throw around are hypothetical or whatever.
The metaphors in this song are quite impressive for a "mainstream" band, but it's not so complex that you can't figure it out, or at least create a personal interpretation. Good stuff. |
