The Besnard Lakes – And You Lied To Me Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I'd love to know what the meaning behind and the source of the muffled female voice throughout is.. Great song. |
Caribou – Melody Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Did you hear that at his Becks Festival Bar show? (Taking a guess, based on the inclusion of syd in your name, and the fact that you posted the day after the show :) |
Grizzly Bear – Little Brother Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I had no idea a reworked version of the original Little Brother could ever sound so beautiful and unreal, as Little Brother (Electric) does. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the baptism idea.. it seems quite plausible. . |
Caribou – After Hours Lyrics | 16 years ago |
quite like this song. does anyone know what the other song is, playing (very softly) at the end of the track? |
Caribou – Melody Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
ahh, cool. 'be there' makes sense. |
Caribou – Melody Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
ok, at the risk of sounding deaf,. . it sounds as if Snaith is saying 'DJ', or something similar, around the 1:11 mark, in that chorus-y part. . . but, what does that mean? |
Caribou – Melody Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this (as well as sandy, irene, etc) is a seriously close-to-perfect song. |
Caribou – Melody Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
what about what he says at around the 1:09 mark? i can't make it out at all! i actually thought this song was less about a relationship that snaith didn't want and more about a relationship the other person didn't want with snaith.. but then, who knows.. . |
Menomena – Rotten Hell Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i don't know why, but when i hear this song i can't help but associate it with a break up.. every time i hear it i think of tattered relationships and bitter aftertastes and irrationality and backbiting and all that... |
Midlake – Branches Lyrics | 17 years ago |
hmm, that's quite a nice take on things, Smarm. your belief that she is content to seek solace within herself perfectly explains why she is happy (living under branches) whereas the narrator is not. this is -such- a melancholy song.. beautiful, all the same, yet so sad, so desolate.. i really -feel- the narrator's sense of helplessness (even if it is fictional!) |
Caribou – Hello Hammerheads Lyrics | 17 years ago |
arghh.. i only somewhat recently discovered this song.. and though i absolutely love it and can't stop singing it, and though the lyrics -are- straightforward, i am so frustrated by what caribou -doesn't- say! that is, why did he leave her? why do people feel the need to justify his action; didn't he have justification? is the absence of his reasoning the cause of their justification? what did they conclude?! ..as usual, i'm totally overthinking things, wishing there were some way of knowing the back story.. and, in doing so, am totally overlooking the fact that the song -sounds- good, and that's all that matters. |
Midlake – Branches Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i'd like to hear what people have to say about this song.. because i've too little faith in my own (uninformed) opinions, and i really really like this song, esp. the 'we won't get married 'cause she wont have me' line.. i mean, is this song based on a true story, ? |
