I think it's about someone who is telling a loved one (maybe his girl or even his child) how the world works, injustice, politics, religion, etc. and as this person loves this girl/child/whoever he is warning him/her (that's what i get from the ''if you love me won't you let me know'' part, is kind of a rhetoric question).
This is my interpr, and surely its wrong or too general, probably it has a more specific meaning. |

For me this song is about not having will power enough to do what you want from life because of the pressure you feel from society or family. This is the freudian theorie about the ego, superego, and id. there are some people that feel to much pressure from their ''id'' in detriment of their ''superego'' and although they know what they want from life (my mind holds the key) they just can't fight their ''id'' (my body is a cage). I don't think i've made myself clear, anyways, who cares, this song rocks. |
