the song is about Claudes confusion. I think it is fantastic since it is an exellent picture on his privat thoughts and desperation, and on the same time it is the same thoughts that touches all the soldiers who went to Vietnam, and didn't quit know WHY, but where unable to (like Berger in the movie) turn thier government down. Claude is ready to follow any clue he couldt have, as long as it explains why he has to die in a strange country, and for whathe is doing it. there are no good answers to these questions. |

this song is played to the soldiers who are wating to go to Vietnam, by people against the war. it descibes what terror is expecting them, when they reached Vietnam. when they reached Vietnam it will be them against everybody, the FNL and there own country. like the song. its very (what to say) 'strong'. especially when they sing it in the movie. |

this is one of my favourites! a bit like 'shadow of the moon', but more sad.. maybe because it is shure the 'gypsy' is dying. she has been left by her love, by everybody actually, she gave them everything she had. opened herself 100% to them and they gave her materalistic stuff she did not wish. and left by her love. the one she turned to 'the sun'. I especially like the chorus: the sun has made a thousend nights, for you to hold. she is doomed to be in the dark/night forever. a least yhis is how I see it, not shure at all. what du you think? |

blackmore's night usually have a little story to tell. -tjis being no exeption! a bautifull story about a girl, being all alone. she has been let down by everybody. still she somehow manage to look on the bright side of life. this is seen in "Feel no sorrow, feel no pain, Feel no hurt, there's nothing gained... Only love will then remain," She would say. she is ready to forget the bad times and focus on the love. she lives in the shadow of the moon, 'will it be any darker?' ;) perhaps the last lines: Somewhere just beyond the mist Spirits were seen flying As the lightning led her way Through the dark... refers to her death and how she is lead to another world. this is just my opinion. love the song! XD |
