The Shins – Split Needles Lyrics | 8 years ago |
The song is called SPILT Needles (from the album). |
Florence + the Machine – What the Water Gave Me Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I was wrong on this. The lyrics are "A beast of a burden". It makes sense either way, but those are the official lyrics. |
Band of Horses – The First Song Lyrics | 10 years ago |
I agree, I just imagine some guy struggling to deal with the holidays and his family/coworker gatherings. Getting drunk, getting cut off in traffic by people rushing to buy shit. The beauty of Christmas. |
Empire of the Sun – Disarm Lyrics | 10 years ago |
Does anyone else think the lyrics above are extremely off? I did not submit those, but those took place of my lyrics because that is what the copywrite holder provided or something. This is what I'm hearing: "The audience, come on dance Push it just enough Ancient hands, distant lands Take a chance my love River ran, past the rocks to the waterfall Piece of man, life began spirit up above Way beyond, the cliff tops Where it meets the blue sea Just beyond further still where you left me Disarm now Disarm your armies and beat the sun Just like this now days in the sun Artifact, secret kept wisdom passed along The audience, stopped and danced as they looked around Way beyond, the cliff tops Where it meets the blue sea Just beyond further still where you met me Disarm now Disarm your armies and beat the sun Just like this now days in the sun Whisper now I don't want to hear about that Just go easy now I don't want to play it like that Oh just come back, no baby run back Don't waste another minute of your heartache Oh just come back, no baby run back Just come back Disarm now Disarm your armies and beat the sun Just like this now days in the sun" |
Metric – Too Little Too Late Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I think you guys are over analyzing the song. I think this is just about a fling (possibly with a fellow band member considering she mentions areas like the "band room") that resulted in some bitter/cynical feelings. There are definitely metaphors (paper fingers), but a lot of it just seems to be referencing specific events and objects. Also a "ride" is part of a drum set, which I think makes sense considering it's in the band room. |
deadmau5 – Ghosts 'n Stuff (feat. Rob Swire) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
*It's the way that you fake it I know it's too late |
deadmau5 – Ghosts 'n Stuff (feat. Rob Swire) Lyrics | 12 years ago |
I'm pretty drunk but I don't think these lyrics are right. I think this is mostly correct: It's been so long I've been out of my body with you I feel alone, feel at home, feel like nothing is true She took me to a place where my senses gave way Turnin' round shuttin down what the people say Climin' up killin' time let em give you some Take my hand and let it come, let it come, let it Take it back when she knows that you're doin' it right 'Cause everybody else knows what they're taking tonight But I just wanna play it right When you gonna get there tonight It's been so far, I've been walkin' the line on my own Lift me up to the stars we are coming home I only had a taste but we're out of time We are sold on the cold physical design Set me free, set me out on the run Lift me up, to the sun, to the sun, to the We are burnin' down, we are burnin' down It's the way that you fake I know it's too late But I just wanna play it right When you gonna get there tonight I just wanna take you down When they gonna bring you around I just wanna play it right When you gonna get there tonight I just wanna take you down When they gonna bring you around |
Florence + the Machine – What the Water Gave Me Lyrics | 12 years ago |
"And oh, poor Atlas The world's a beast of a burden You've been holding on a long time" I'm pretty sure is "And oh, poor Atlas was a beast of burden You've been holding up a long time" Atlas is the beast of burden, not the world. |
Serj Tankian – Sky Is Over Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Based on the lyrics, the most I can assume is this song may be about the global implications of monkeys throwing their feces and how it effects the war on terrorism. |
Ozzy Osbourne – No More Tears Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I was trying to figure out what that spoken part in the middle of the song was about so I Googled "a hand in the bush". That was a mistake... |
Pink Floyd – Yet Another Movie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
A lot of this song sounds like it could be referring to cinema in general, and the "He has laughed and he has cried he has fought and he has died he's just the same as all the rest, he's not the worst, he's not the best" part to a specific actor, implying that all the roles he's played in have still done nothing to make him stand out from any other actor. |
Bob Marley and the Wailers – More Axe Lyrics | 17 years ago |
There are more lyrics at the beginning of the song. Something like "White folks said I serve almighty man, Play it smart and not being clever." But it's a bit difficult to pick out exactly was he's saying afterward. I'm pretty sure this song is about how African American's who were kept as slaves will eventually topple the white man through unity, i.e. "If you are a big tree, we are the small axe, sharpened to cut you down...". He also refers to some words of wisdom that his master gave him including "whosoever digith a pit, shall fall in it" implying that slave owners have been digging a pit and are destined to be punished for their actions. |
