Bush – Machinehead Lyrics | 15 years ago |
boneyard23 - perfectly said. You hit the nail on the head. This is a ridiculous attempt at songwriting. It's a jumble of words and fans try to kid themselves and come up with a meaning. "for our rise against the years and years and years" - what? Please, save me. Also, I liked your comment about the singer not knowing what the song is about. I guarantee you that you are correct. I want to interview him on camera to see what he'll say. "it's about... uhh.. sponges..?" I WAFFLE MY MACHINE. |

You guys have no idea how funny it is watching some hardcore fans try to justify some slight meaning to this jumble of words. Lets just face it, Bush is a very talented band, but Rossdale couldn't write his way out of a wet paper bag. "Years and years and years?" oh c'mon. Stop kidding yourselves, these lyrics are abysmal. |

Seether – Fake It Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is obviously about George W. Bush. |
Matchbox Twenty – Busted Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I don't see what any of you guys see in this song. I think he's generally speaking TO the emotion of love as if it was a person. He's pleading to love to keep away from him, he doesn't want to feel it, because he thinks it will change him, that nothing good can come from it, and that it will only hurt him in the long run. |
Matchbox Twenty – Disease Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Believe me Meanwhile my world is coming down on me Should be: "But leave me be while my world is coming down on me" I'm like 99% sure.. |
Matchbox Twenty – Mad Season Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Best song by the box, PERIOD. I love it, everything about it is excecuted SO perfectly. I agree with all of the meanings posted here to some extent. I also think that it may be Rob Thomas's take on dealing with fame..or a message to his bandmates as well. I guess the video kinda made me think this a little, but it makes sense. |

I don't want to sound like a jackass but honestly, who loses a guitar? |
Staind – Epiphany Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I actually believe this song is about A.D.D. The opening lyrics imply this. The "It's always raining my head part", escpecially. I was in a gifted class in middle school, and in case it's not "common knowledge", most children classified as gifted are also A.D.D. I've heard kids say things similar in meaning to that line. One i remember particularly was "you know how when you're trying to sleep, your mind wants to stay on, and you can't fall asleep, so you turn it off like you do a t.v" I just find an awful lot of similarities between the two, being A.D.D. myself. |
