Front Line Assembly – Afterlife Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Bah, no comments? Such an awesome song. Anyways, I think that it's about a soldier who is wounded on a battlefield and is seconds away from death, but I may be wrong. (When the last thing that goes through your mind is a FLA song... that's pretty awesome xP) The meanings are pretty obvious if you think of it like that. The only part that I'm having double thoughts about, is the "Send this signal from above....." part. It could either be referring to Heaven (It IS called Afterlife), or maybe it could be a helicopter flying by, which brings a feeling of hope. |
Opeth – Isolation Years Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It could be about a now-dead husband reading his widow's letter There's a sense of longing in me As I read Rosemary's letter //He wants to be with her to stop her grieving Her writing is honest Can't forget the years she's lost //He remembers all the things they could've done had he been alive In isolation She talks about her love //He knows she's now lonely and wants him back And as I read "I'll die alone" I know she was aching //And she will die alone, I'm guessing she means that she won't find someone to love as much as him There's a certain detail seen here The pen must have slipped to the side And left a stain Next to his name She knew he was gone //While writing the note, she remembered about him and was sad so her pen slipped since it also reminded her that she wouldn't see him ever again... Either that, or that she was remembering him and mentally, his name is tainted (stained) And isolation Is all that would remain //She'll never see him again, ever... "The wound in me is pouring out To rest on a lover's shore" //She's hurt mentally and wishes that he were here to heal her, or she's calling for him (like a lighthouse calls for boats from a shore) I'm crap at deciphering these tho |
Stolen Babies – Mind Your Eyes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Could also be a metaphor for fear stalking you, or something o.0 |
Abney Park – Airship Pirate Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is a very in depth song about a man who loves... (Just Kidding) It's just a song about how they're steampunk pirates fighting other ships and living their lives. Great song :D |
Nightwish – Creek Mary's Blood Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Pretty obvious one... It's about how white man came and took over the land of the Native Americans, similar in meaning to Iron Maiden's "Run to the Hills". They then forced them to move away (Trail of Tears was a trail Native Americans followed west to relocate) It also describes how the person's story of white man coming is only known because it was passed down from generation to generation orally. |
Slayer – Live Undead Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Actually, I think it has something to do with being burried alive (hence the name)... Cascaded Darkness, walls close in on me - Youre put inside a casket Nailed Shut But My Eyes Still See - casket is closed (specially in old times when it was nailed closed... I think) but you can still see since youre alive The Pain Of Life After Death It Resolves - You are still alive after being considered dead/put in coffin, and you will eventually die... |
Slayer – Cult Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Woot slayer rocks... this song is also awesome, but it IS just an anti-christian rant. I do agree with most parts however, since im against religion. And WishingForYou, believe what you want to believe but christianity is a lie. Few quick questions - where does the Bible place dinosaurs and cavemen? Where does it place mesopotamia and all those early civilizations? The whole point of religions IMO is to stop the advancement of mankind... just take the burning of the Library of Alexandria or the capture of Leonardo for experimenting with bird wings, anatomy and other such things... |
Children of Bodom – Blooddrunk Lyrics | 16 years ago |
To lantern - also in the video for Clash of the Booze Brothers (yes, live)... altho there Janne is playing with both hands while Alexi makes him drink |
Kamelot – The Human Stain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's a great song, great video too... I think that it has something to do about the influence that people have until they die, and how you wish you could live more to leave your "stain" on the world... but it also seems to be about mankind's influence on the environment until they die... |
Arch Enemy – The Great Darkness Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Don't forget that in latin there is no word order. Dominus beo spiritus = to bless the master's spirit Diabolus Libero Spiritus = To free the devil's spirit/spirit of the devil |
