Serj Tankian – Ching Chime Lyrics 11 years ago
The key to figuring out this song would be figuring out what the 'ching chime' is.

Avenged Sevenfold – Critical Acclaim Lyrics 11 years ago
I didn't agree with the war, but I'm sure as hell not going to blame the troops. The troops got fucked harder than ANY of us and deserve respect for doing their jobs. I'm a Progressive and even I believe the ones who insult the troops deserve nothing more than a beatdown.

That said, I might not agree with the band's politics, but I LOVE A7X and definitely agree with the pro-troop sentiments of the song.

Linkin Park – I'll Be Gone Lyrics 12 years ago
It's suicide, literal or figurative. Figurative in that it could also be about leaving everything behind.

Or it could just be a great single that happens to reference God because it's a song about the apocalypse. Take your tinfoil hat and fuck off.

Machinae Supremacy – Dark City Lyrics 14 years ago
from what I could figure out, a Belvedere is also a model of car.

this makes sense, considering the post-apocalyptic feel of the song, and the character being a supposed survivor. what pushes the survivor angle more is the switch from talking about the entire race, to seemingly talking about one person (maybe a significant other killed or lost in whatever event took place?). also, the switching from talking about being in a mob or some kind of large-scale riot to suddenly being alone reinforces it even more.

all in all, the song's meaning is kind of clear cut but at the same time completely muddled, especially when you consider the band's penchant for making references to games (i.e. the Serpent Hollow and Oblivion thing), movies (which apparently the title of the song is a reference to), and anime.

Iris – It Generates Lyrics 16 years ago
This song, like Bump of Chicken - Karma, has very interesting but very beautiful lyrics. I haven't quite found the meaning in either yet, though..

Nine Inch Nails – The Great Destroyer Lyrics 17 years ago
It's about the Star Chamber Massacre/Red Horse virus. Hell, the redhorsevector site is in it. Scrambled, and on a different audio channel, but it's there.

Nine Inch Nails – Meet Your Master Lyrics 17 years ago
Hmm.. When I really think about the first part ("You'll put on this blindfold"), it makes me think of the Red Horse Vector video and what they did to that guy. Could also have something to do with how the USBM deals with "subversives," or it could be as was said earlier, from the viewpoint of whatever The Presence is, or whatever controls it.

The Beatles – The Fool on the Hill Lyrics 17 years ago
It can apply to anyone, really. Anyone who knows what they're talking about, but gets scoffed and laughed at knows exactly what this song is saying.
