Stars – The Last Song Ever Written Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Amy's part is something like this: Door open, hand (?) empty There's no one behind me You'll come to me one day They won't take you away I'll wake in the morning You'll stand in the doorway I'm here now, I'm here now and I'll stay here somehow until you can come to the place where they take you |
Stars – The Black House, The Blue Sky Lyrics | 14 years ago |
Pretty sure it's "It's never easy when we write goodbye but goodbye is the one word we know" and "we left the ending locked inside that room" |
Stars – I Died So I Could Haunt You Lyrics | 14 years ago |
He's definitely saying "thousands you lost in the fire" |
Stars – Fixed Lyrics | 14 years ago |
agreed. She definitely says kill. I always thought it was "A killer killing face" but it could be fate. Watching the video, though, she's definitely saying "A killer killing" something. |
Stars – The Comeback Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm sorry, but, these cannot be the right lyrics. I'm listening to it right now and there are some pretty glaring mistakes here. "Taken and not giving always left me breathless" "Here again and glad to be here - when pop songs end why do I feel fear?" "step right up and hear my story" "Some angel dust and a pint of wine" "Now I'm fucking you and I should be fine" "Get out of bed Ima need you all night" - this one I'm not 100% on, but, it's definitely not "I'm gonna beat your life" |
M.I.A. – O... Saya Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'm pretty sure its... They can't touch me We break off, run so fast they can't even touch me Been that gypsy Touch me I'll show you tricks with my zig zag quickly Pick up their packs on my journey Dogs run, they start to follow me Had my luck, some days they suck When we live for the buck we get for the family One day I wanna be a star So I get to hang in a bar I'll go to Vegas with the playas Just to forget my scars ..... Sweatshops that made me shifty like a ninja with speed I'm nifty I hope I live til I'm 50 See my city go gritty to thrifty (or pretty, but it sounds more like thrifty to me) |
Johnny Flynn – Shore to Shore Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Might be my favorite song of his (then again, all his songs are so utterly amazing). I think the line where you have question marks is "She was no Hattie Carroll" which is a reference to a horrible murder that took place in the 1960s. Bob Dylan wrote a song about it called The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll |
Damien Rice – Accidental Babies Lyrics | 15 years ago |
First of all, the way these lyrics are typed out is completely subjective and is not necessarily how they are sung, thus perhaps completely changing the meaning of certain lines. For example, I interpreted the line "And we ignored our others' happy plans for that delicate look upon your face" to be "And we ignored our others" meaning their current significant others for their "happy plans for that delicate look upon your face." I think this song is about two people who used to be together reconnecting for one unforgettable moment of passion, and as they are there together, having been apart so long and now with different people, he's telling her he's telling her and wonders if she really can honestly say she is happy in her current relationship. People are having affairs, but the lovers in the song are the ones in the middle of the affair, and the people being cheated on are pieces of baggage we never even meet. |
Young Galaxy – Come and See Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think it's "is this coincidence or connection?" |
Young Galaxy – Embers Lyrics | 17 years ago |
does anyone know which member of the band sings this? i don't think it's Steve, but it seems too low to be sung by a woman, anybody know? In any case, this is my favorite song on the album. I espcially love the second half of it. Really powerful stuff. |

bottom line, this is really the most beautiful song I have ever heard. Damien Rice is a genius in the way that he can make such a mundane and ordinary occurence seem unbelievably powerful, "Do you brush your teeth before you kiss? Do you miss my smell?" Just beautiful, this song made me cry the first time I heard it. |
Patrick Park – Life is a Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song reminds me of Time of Your Life - only better and far more poignant if you ask me. There are some songs i listen to and I say, "Damn, i wish I had written this song" and this is definitely one of those. I did hear it on the O.C. but after really listening to it and reading the words, it means much more to me now than just the song that played at the end of the show. I agree with what everyone is saying. To me I think it is basically giving voice to a turning point in life. it is saying that it's time to mature and accept what has happened but to not let it define who you are, let your actions of the past effect your actions of the future and never take life for granted because good times are to be appreciated, and as he says "no promises of peace or of happiness" |
