this song is breathtaking. i've been listening to it on repeat for the last 3 days. it's so beautiful, and so happy, but sad at the same time. from this song, i get a few feelings, like that of a fresh start, or realization. like, waking up and seeing the sun shining, and appreciating the beauty of it. there's a sadness, too, and from that i get the feeling that nothing lasts forever, so be happy and love what you have. i don't know. mogwai is the most intense, emotional band i know of. there really aren't words to convey everything you hear in one of these songs, because you connect on such a personal level. |

In my humble opinion, the whole Black Parade album sucked out loud. They should've quit while they were ahead. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge wasn't that bad, and I do own it, which means that I'm not one of those people that immediately hates on a band because of their musical style. I can really relate to this song well, but this line especially...it's eerie. The line reminds me of my parents. One chose to stay = My mom The other flew away = My dad (He's always flying away to places. He doesn't live with us.) One chose to stray = My stepdad (We have no idea where he went or what he's doing.) The promises they made = Everything they said would happen, but didn't. This just applies to me, of course. |
