Casiotone for the Painfully Alone – To My Mr. Smith Lyrics | 15 years ago |
when the bus doesn't show* this song, like so many other casiotone songs, is just so honest and bare that it breaks your heart. |
S – I'm Fine... Bye Bye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
alcohol. drinking a lot and forgetting the whole night, only to be reminded of your lapses in judgement the next day. |
The Hush Sound – As You Cry Lyrics | 16 years ago |
my ex sent me this song the other day. that bastard. |
Say Hi – Blizzard Lyrics | 16 years ago |
yeah, i get that whole nostalgic feeling, too, except i'm reminded of just walking through the snow in the dark last year. it's an appropriate title for the song, it sounds very wintery. |
Mogwai – Golden Porsche Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is breathtaking. i've been listening to it on repeat for the last 3 days. it's so beautiful, and so happy, but sad at the same time. from this song, i get a few feelings, like that of a fresh start, or realization. like, waking up and seeing the sun shining, and appreciating the beauty of it. there's a sadness, too, and from that i get the feeling that nothing lasts forever, so be happy and love what you have. i don't know. mogwai is the most intense, emotional band i know of. there really aren't words to convey everything you hear in one of these songs, because you connect on such a personal level. |
Carissa's Wierd – Sophisticated Fuck Princess Please Leave Me Alone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the first line is "i can't recall what made me like you" |
Carissa's Wierd – Sophisticated Fuck Princess Please Leave Me Alone Lyrics | 16 years ago |
the first line is "i can't recall what made me like you" |
Rilo Kiley – A Better Son/Daughter Lyrics | 16 years ago |
"And your mother’s still calling you insane And I swear that it’s different this time And you tell her you give in to the demons that possess her And that God never blessed her insides" I believe this part also relates to the bipolar theory that surrounds this song. Bipolar is often hereditary, and I suffer from it myself. "You give in to the demons that possess her" Bipolar possessed her first, and now you. |
Alexisonfire – To A Friend Lyrics | 16 years ago |
BrianSeeders: Haha, I thought the EXACT same thing. |
Laurie Anderson – O Superman (For Massenet) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is beautiful in it's strangeness. it really gives you that feeling as if you're in the middle of a war. most people i know that have heard this song think it's weird and hate it, but i like it. |
Alexisonfire – Sharks And Danger Lyrics | 16 years ago |
AHHH thank you. i've been trying for ages to figure out what the man is saying in the phone conversation. |
Say Hi – As Smart As Geek Is Chic Right Now Lyrics | 16 years ago |
this song is so cute. i love it. |
Neurosonic – Until I Die Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I saw these guys at V-Fest and I wa blown away. Freaking fantastic. Right after they went offstage I went and bought the $50 Neurosonic hoodie. HAH. |
Lovehatehero – Theatre of Robots Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with escapexvelocity. "The pavement; it dulls your senses. And visions of black and white, of solid steel, and flashing lights. So close your eyes, and lose this fight." It sounds like someone jumped off of a building, just to end it. Fantastic song. |
Madonna – Nobody's Perfect Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This was playing in my classroom the other day, and my teacher turned to me and said, "Hey, this is your song!" I hate it, but I have to agree with her. |
Madonna – Nobody's Perfect Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This was playing in my classroom the other day, and my teacher turned to me and said, "Hey, this is your song!" I hate it, but I have to agree with her. |
The Medic Droid – Keeping Up With the Joneses Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Hooray for new Medic Droid!!! I've been waiting ever since Fer Sure came out :] |
Mogwai – I Know You Are But What Am I? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with drmn. When I saw the title, I have to admit I thought of elementary school comebacks, but after I listened to the song I thought about it, and it made sense. I know you are - I know you exist; I know you're there; I know you're a person But what am I? Quite ingenious, actually. |
Misery Signals – Worlds & Dreams Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is absolutely wonderful. I listened to it on repeat for weeks nonstop. It reminds me of freedom. It just makes me want to run. Amazing. |
Sequoyah Prep School – 501 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song, to me, is about someone who's just sick of where they are, and they up and left. Something I wish I had the guts to do sometimes. |
American Football – Letters and Packages Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Instant emotion. Bravo. |
Off Topic – We Get It, You're Sad Lyrics | 17 years ago |

Lily Allen – Cheryl Tweedy Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Wish I had blonde hair Wish I had green eyes" me. :) 'cept my hair is no longer blonde because i've dyed it so often. iunno, i just read that and laughed and said to myself, haha, i don't have to wish!! and that, my friends, is the deep meaning i gathered from this song. |
Halloween, Alaska – Des Moines Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The boy with such sad wings should stay off tall buildings and keep away from high wires. So, so sad. I love it. |
Depeche Mode – Stripped Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Shiny Toy Guns does a great version of this song. The line that always got me was 'Metropolis has nothing on this'. To me, that just seemed like fantastic writing. |
The Cranberries – Zombie Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song has been my all time favourite since I was a baby. No joke, I used to dance to this song in my crib. And no, I don't remember. My mother told me :) It's phenomenal, and so emotional. The music is so well married with the lyrics, and this is one of the few songs I could listen to on repeat nonstop and I wouldn't get tired of it. |
Elliott Smith – Twilight (Somebody's Baby) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is so beautiful. It gets me every time. |
My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
In my humble opinion, the whole Black Parade album sucked out loud. They should've quit while they were ahead. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge wasn't that bad, and I do own it, which means that I'm not one of those people that immediately hates on a band because of their musical style. I gave MCR a chance, and they blew it. |
Between the Trees – The Way She Feels Lyrics | 17 years ago |
To be honest (and most certainly not meaning to be offensive), I liked this song better before I realized that they're talking about Christ, for no reason other than the fact that I'm not religious in any way, shape, or form. Other than that, though, it's an amazing song. |
Between the Trees – You Cry A Tear To Start A River Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song makes me feel...hopeful. Maybe not the song itself, but the lyrics definitely. |
Lost Ocean – You Are Lyrics | 17 years ago |
One chose to stay, the other flew away. One chose to stray, the promises they made. Oh my word, this scared me when I read it. I can really relate to this song well, but this line especially...it's eerie. The line reminds me of my parents. One chose to stay = My mom The other flew away = My dad (He's always flying away to places. He doesn't live with us.) One chose to stray = My stepdad (We have no idea where he went or what he's doing.) The promises they made = Everything they said would happen, but didn't. This just applies to me, of course. |
Elliott Smith – Can't Make a Sound Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Why should you want any other When you're a world within a world? C'est incroyable!! |
Dear and the Headlights – Paper Bag Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with Kassichi. That line, to me, means that he regrets the things he never did when he was younger (i.e. have fun and be free/live life to the fullest..?) |
Nights Like These – Symphony For The Plague Lyrics | 17 years ago |
These lyrics are freaking fantastic. I fell in love as soon as I saw them. |
Circle Takes the Square – Interview At The Ruins Lyrics | 17 years ago |
When I heard "Face the corner of the box and dive in", I thought of Pandora's Box, not a coffin. Was I the only one..? |
The Submarines – Ready or Not Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I want somebody to sing this to me. |
Darude – Sandstorm Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I danced around to this song in my class today. Best techno song ever. |
The Medic Droid – Fer Sure Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I have spent countless lunch hours belting out this song in empty classrooms. Amazing x5. |
Lady Bouncer – 3 2 1 ZERO Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Lady Bouncer is phenomenal. =] |
Lady Bouncer – Dirty Mary Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The first verse is wrong. "Hello, my name is Dirty Mary Your horny secretary I'll be whatever you want me to be I can be a motherfuckin slut You simply have to ask it And you will see this Mary getting nasty" Great song. Made me laugh. |
Jimmy Cliff – You Can Get It If You Really Want Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song was used in the book "Second Star To The Right", a book about a young anorexic girl. She uses this song to work out. That's all I hear when I hear this song. "You can get it if you really want, but you must try try and try" = "You're almost thin. Keep going." |
Carrie Underwood – Before He Cheats Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I always heard "legacy", not "leather seat". Hmm. I'm not one for country, but oddly enough I have all the words to this song memorized. It's a great song to belt out on a bus with a friend. Or in a classroom. Or anywhere, really. Haha, I don't like Carrie Underwood but the song is great. |
Umbrellas – Comfort in Suffering Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with charcoal. It sounds like he's talking about a car wreck that killed somebody he loved, and now he can't stop thinking about it. "and I play it safe now" |
Planes Mistaken for Stars – The Past Two Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song was written for me, I swear. This past December ripped me apart, and now I'm afraid to admit that I feel vaguely suicidal. |
Drop Dead, Gorgeous – E.R. Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with Erica. The ending is AMAZING. |
Bright Eyes – A Line Allows Progress, a Circle Does Not Lyrics | 17 years ago |
As you try to find some source of light Try to name one thing you like You used to have such a longer list And light, you never had to look for it But now it's so easy to second guess everything you do Until all you want is to finish this half empty glass Before the ice melts away This feeling always used to pass But seems like it's every day Seems like it's every night now I didn't even have to hear the song to get hit by that. Conor is absolutely amazing. |
Say Hi – Blizzard Lyrics | 17 years ago |
The first verse makes absoutely no sense at all to me. I'll repost what I think he's saying. The bliss, your hair unkempt The blizzard came and went And we played twister 'til our joints got sore again And I need to take it all in for a little while |
Snow Patrol – Make This Go On Forever Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I have been playing this song nonstop since I heard it. It's not so much the lyrics that impress me, but the way they're sung. The chrous just makes me feel so...eerily insignificant. It sounds big, and I love it. |
