the fighting in here makes me sad. ): in response to what wolfwood said: being in love with something is completely different than wanting to have sex with them. it's rather immature to think those things go hand in hand... and this song should be up to the listener to interpret. it doesn't matter if something believes its about faith or about a significant other. you guys are all being frustrating. ): it's what the song means to you, not to everyone. each person is different. and if someone has a different view, accept it, don't bash it! we all agree this song is about a relationship, whether it's god or your significant other. it's still a relationship with someone who means so much to you and has changed you a lot. i have to agree with rival cycle. after i read these lyrics i got goosebumps. to me the lyrics that stand out the most are: "This is the correlation of salvation and love. Don't drop your arms. I'll guard your heart. With quiet words I'll lead you in and out of the dark" God is salvation and love and it's saying how to never stop worshiping Him. "Don't drop your arms" A method of worshiping is by raising your arms. Also, God guards out heart as we wait for that one soulmate out there. God also speaks lightly to us, whispering. He is also the light of the world and will lead us out of the dark. That's what that means to me. |

there's always going to be some crazy christian preacher at the corner of the street yelling that we are all sinners and going to hell. and the crazy jewish preacher shouting that jesus wasn't the son of god. or the crazy islamic preacher shouting that christianity and jewish people have it all wrong. or even the athiest or scientologist shouting that we came from monkeys. and theres always going to be that division of religion because people can't just accept everyone for the way they are. world peace is so far away, :/ i wish everyone would get along. |

To me, this song seems to remind me that it doesn't matter what church or denomination you are from. whether catholic or protestant. You should live a life like Christ, not like the Christians. Jesus was the only perfect human being to walk the earth. it shouldn't matter which part of the religion you are from. You all worship the same God. He died on the cross for your sins. He loves you unconditionally. Nothing else matters except for being a light of the world for God. |

This is also based on consumerism, as a lot of their songs are. The want for more. The desire for new possessions and being the place of constant want. Having more and more physical items won't make us whole inside. the only thing that will do song is Jesus Christ. "Open, Swallow, you're so hollow" You constantly take in things of no worth. They won't fill you up. The physical items on earth are only temporay. Jesus' love endures all. |

Gamzilla is right, "I hear they’ll hang you upside down stretched across two boards for hearing distant voices and crossing to the Lord." That refers to when Peter was crucified. Before Jesus is crucified, he tells Peter that he will deny Jesus three times and he does so. In the end of the book of John, when Jesus has risen from the dead and come to speak to Peter. He asks Peter if he truly loves Him, three times. Each time for the times Peter denied Him. He finally states that he does love Jesus. Later on in His life, Peter is crucified for his love of God and doesn't deny it. As they are about to crucify him, he is asked to be crucified upside down, because he believes he is not worthy to have the same death as Jesus. "I know that one day soon a song shall rise you’ll hear it with the sleep still in your eyes" Mark says that, it was very early, just before sunrise when they found Jesus' tomb empty. "If Jesus Christ is true, then I am mostly lies" he hasn't been living a life towards God. he's been lying and not truthful. "if Jesus Christ is Love, then I have failed to try" He hasn't been loving everyone with all of his heart and ability. Jesus loved everything. "If Jesus Christ is life, then please just let me die" He feels he doesn't deserve to be with God since His actions contradict his love of God. This song is basically him confessing his wrongs. you have to submit yourself to God. You can't go on in your life alone. This is how I view it, |
