"i fuck around do the right thing like spite now"
That should read: i fuck around do the right think like SPIKE now -- as in Spike Lee, director of "Do the Right Thing." |

I see what you did there -- instead of "rap," you called it "crap." Unbelievably clever. Please kill yourself. |

Belle & Sebastian – If She Wants Me Lyrics

Awesome song, but the opening guitar riff is stolen from "Bertha" by The Grateful Dead (especially from the version on their S/T live album from '71, aka Skull & Roses). |

John Vanderslice – Angela Lyrics

It's pretty clear he's saying "Are the best of his life," not "were."
The song seems to be about unfettered freedom, and how scary it can be. Sure, there may be negative consequences, but ultimately, those negative consequences are worth an untimely demise. Then the parallel between people trapped in their given situation versus embarking on a new journey...
John Vanderslice is awesome. |

Four years later, this song still holds up. This was my first introduction to "good" music, and it still remains my favorite because of that (this and "Fight Test" made me rethink my entire music collection). Fantastic song from a fantastic band. |

In re: to sex and death, "to die" meant to have a sexual orgasm in Elizabethan England (the time of Shakespeare). So, the idea of sex and death are not as mutually exclusive as they perhaps seem. |

The Flaming Lips – Waitin' for a Superman Lyrics

I think "It's just too heavy for Superman to lift" is one of the most beautifully simplistic sentiments I've ever heard. I find it astonishingly stunning. Also, I find "couldBanyone" to be one of the most pretentious douches I've ever seen. |
