Billy Joel – The Downeaster 'Alexa' Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is deeper then being just about a fisherman. To me it's about determination and destination.. and even when you forget your goal, never forget the people you leave behind. |
KT Tunstall – Suddenly I See Lyrics | 17 years ago |
What i think about when i hear this song is this suttle beauty to her. That is respectable, fun, and unique. Someone that you couldn't make a clone of even if you tried. She lights up a room with the entrance and seems to have all the answers. She isn't one to put you down, but rather bring you up. I don't think she is a real person, just someone that every girl should want to be. It makes you want to evaluate people.. idk |
3 Doors Down – When I'm Gone Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This is simply amazing. My favorite 3dorrs song by far. No matter whatever happens between whomever, there love must still go on. So take advantage of the time they have together. |
Blue October – Into the Ocean Lyrics | 17 years ago |
well, everyone pretty much said what the song means. but I'm going to say my interpretation. The way i think of it is that he is depressed, and thinking about suicide. Because his life got out of control and he feels theres nothing he can do about it.What he wants to do is leave and never come back, but he is to afraid to start over. And if he doesn't get better soon, he won't be able to handle any of it. He wishes he was stronger, so he could get past this time of sadness and fear and move on with his life. Now, as he stays in his spot with no where to turn, he hears people giving him warnings and advice but not being able to take it. Like whales in the water, you can't interpret there singing. And now everything he has feared has come true and its overpowering him. And the last bit of hope he had was diminished. Now he's looking for a reason not to end his life. For someone to just say stop and save him and make everything better. But everyone that he lost during his depression won't come back and save him now, so he's alone. He's trying to stay alive but with everything that is going on, how can he possibly stand another minute. Now he's just confused with no where to run and hide, he cries one last time for help before he begins to think of his options. He's too weak to go any further and he wishes he could understand better and get through this like everyone else. He envies the solid ground because thats were your feet are planted, and he feels that he's floating above it, almost in a daze. And he reaches for that last bit of hope inside hoping it will be enough, and then he remembers a special someone's face, and relaxes... maybe things could be worse. The day after his breakdown he thinks about what he did and how close he came to ending it all. Like jumping form the bow- It's on impulse and not thought out. He remembers how the one he loved died, and how he came so close to killing himself, and how all of the people that cared for him would feel. He wanted to end his life quick, and he didn't give it enough thought... he wanted to selfishly end it all. The chorus is the main structure of the song... He wants to get away, but he can't find a way how. And it already feels like his drowning in his own body. He wants to get the worst of everything over with. Let the waves push him around, let the hurricanes toss him about, but hopefully when its all over, he'll only have rain, which isn't as bad as the hurricanes and waves. And let it fall until it can do no more falling and everything is over. And the weight of the world will be lifted off his chest. |
Toploader – Dancing In The Moonlight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't know why, and this is actually pretty weird, but this song makes me so sad. Because it makes me wish my life was different. Like this song. idk.. |
Ray LaMontagne – Shelter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think it's about two people that have broken up, and have no intentions of getting back together, but they still love each other and would do anything for one another. It very lovely. |
Keane – Somewhere Only We Know Lyrics | 17 years ago |
He's lonely. And he needs something more then what he's getting, and sometimes what you need is something you already had. So he wishes to go back to when times were good, when he and a significant other had this special place. Maybe it'll be a reminder, of how things can get better, or a fact, that nothing will. |
The Wallflowers – One Headlight Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is about ... i honestly can't even say. It's amazing. And it makes my heart sink. The way i see it, is that someone he cared for killed themselves. And there were signs. "She said it's cold It feels like Independence Day And I can't break away from this parade But there's got to be an opening Somewhere here in front of me Through this maze of ugliness and greed And I seen the sun up ahead At the county line bridge Sayin' all there's good and nothingness is dead We'll run until she's out of breath She ran until there's nothin' left She hit the end-it's just her window ledge " And when she died, something died in him. but he knows that he can't just stop living, and he has to finish his life off. It's like the girl was his other headlight. And his destination isn't as clear, but he must keep going, for the sake of the car. This song just makes me sad. But i love it none-the-less. |
Jason Mraz – I'm Yours Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is so intentional. To me, the message is as clear as day. Stop caring so much. He's been spending too long making sure he looks perfect, to please everyone else. And there is still something wrong, so he does whatever he can to try and see whats wrong with him. And then his reflection gets blurry, and he forgets where he began. So he starts over again, and is finally able to enjoy who he truly is. So just stop working on your appearance so much and go with the flow, because the only opinion that matters in your life should be your own, and you can never truly change who you are. "Our name is our virtue". |
Jason Mraz – Bella Luna Lyrics | 17 years ago |
ECk, i see these exact lyrics all over the web, so i don't completely blame the poster, but whoever originally posted these lyrics likes to make up words apparently. Anyway, this song is like a drug for me. It's simply to beautiful for words. It makes me want to ballroom dance. His lyrics are captivating and I agree with everyone when they say that he is using the moon as a metaphor to describe a women. "You are the queen and king combining everything intertwining like a ring around the finger of a girl I'm just a singer, you're the world" It's perfect. This is my all time favorite Jason Mraz song, no doubt about it. |
