Let's Go Sailing – Sideways Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song is really pretty...it's so dreamy. i think it's about someone who's beginning to consider a good friend as something more. and they're scared to take the next step, there are so many reasons not to go for it, but they're considering it anyway. i like the line "i've been looking at you sideways,' it makes me think of someone who's nervously glancing at the person next to them, all the while hoping. |

Patrick Watson – The Great Escape Lyrics | 17 years ago |
somedays, life gets so weary you just want to get away. i wonder if he's singing about giving up: "Hey child, things are looking down, That's OK you don't need to win anyways" Or maybe it's about not putting too much pressure on yourself,to just take it easy for a bit, and get away. Or it could be about dying. |
Kings of Convenience – Stay Out Of Trouble Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wow..ya know...i hadn't thought of it as a goodbye song before, but now it makes perfect sense. my earlier take on the song was that it's about a guy who suddenly realizes he wants something more than a friendship with this girl ('so baby, what we've got has lately not been enough'), on the eve of him or her leaving the place. but i was probably super-imposing my own life experiences onto the song. the break-up theory fits much better! it's such a wistful song. |
Kings of Convenience – Cayman Islands Lyrics | 17 years ago |
'These canals, it seems, they all go in circles, Places look the same, and we're the only difference' This always makes me think of Amsterdam, and its canals. Plus there's the reference to the bike, which Amsterdam is full of! :) (unless he means MOTORbike) |
Bedouin Soundclash – 12:59 Lullabye Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song conjures up images of hawaiian beaches, and hammocks, and swaying palm trees... i think it's about waiting for inspiration to strike. |
