| one of my favourites on Underage Thinking. its a sweet song, and i guess he is giving advice to a friend (boy/girl) because they are complaining about how maybe his/her relationships dont work? I like to give this song to my friends, especially one of my guy friends who seriousuly likes a different girl each week. I would use the line; "slow down, and pace yourself, because when its good its a long open road" as a really good love quote. I live in Lee's home town of Frankston and to be quite "frank" Lee is SO popular down here. Yeah Yeah "he's songs are so cheap" Who cares?! Anyway Lee I think is a GREAT singer I think and an awesome entertainer live especially when he came to my school and did an awesome version of Eye of The tiger. I would consider his music pop rock instead punk although it does have some wicked guitar strums. Its a really catchy beat + personally I love the song. Just because its about absolutely nothing ! Anyone can write a song about absolutely nothing, but I think Lee did a good job with mixing the music with the Lyrics. x |

What really annoys me is people bagging artists because of their musical talent and the songs they put out there. First of all, EVERYONE has a different approach to singing great. Maybe hilary sings different to Stacie Orrico or Delta Goodrem or someone. I would like to see the people who are dissing her to hit notes as high as hers, or sing in front of hundreds of thousands of people see what they can do. Secondly, half of the songs artists release are not even written by them! Songwriters and producers and people like that write songs that they think are appropriate for the artist! So there is no point dissing a song by an artist before you get your facts right and know 100% that the artist actually wrote the song themselves. Now I am only 13, but I think that you can post your opinion of the song but not the artist itself. If you want to post something about the artist them visit a different forum! These are designed for what the SONG means to you, not your trashy opinion of that the artist can go die and stuff like that. Saying that an artist can go die is the most terrible thing. Think about it, would you like it if someone that didnt like you came up to you and said you can go die just for producing music and being famous. Its absolutely wrong ! I dont really see what the problem is of using a song in a show ! If it wasnt for the OC, really this song would not have been this famous and in my opinion I dont think Youth Group would have been as successful. Youth group are a talented band and I am sure they will thank the OC for the great success with the song. And covers of songs isnt that bad. Not all of us (like me, I'm 13) would not have heard that song before because it was in the 80's so it bringing some music that my parents would have listened to back then, and so that we can all listen to it and sing along to the lyrics. So I think that covers is a positive thing toward the music industry. |

my first impression of this song was that it was about a relationship; and I still believe that. My opinion is that its about this girl who keeps hanging off him and not giving him a break; and interfearing with his regular life; and look where we are now means that he has broken it off with her because of her hanging off him. And in the bridge he is sayign we could start it all over again if she would give him some space and he could move in his own direction aswell as be with her. This is a song where it can be put in any situation though I guess. |

Well I dont exactly agree with the pregnant interpratation of the song. From my view I think it is about a relationship. It is about a guy who has broken up with the girl because he doesnt feel that way anymore and she hasnt taken it well. And now that the time has passed he feels for her again, she has moved on aswell and now he as come back into her life again and she is confused about what to do. Dont be afraid of something new. Which is saying like "I have changed and lets start over new again" And this song he has written for her is to try and convince her to come back to him. And I also saw in the February issue of Girlfriend magazine which was love themed for V day, the song Lights Surrounding you was put in the list of the top 10 love songs ever which gives the impression that it is a love song. But I dont know haha. Thats just my opinion. x |
