Biffy Clyro – Saturday Superhouse Lyrics 16 years ago
A mash up? What are you on about? Their old stuff is some of the most amazing pieces of music ever created. Vertigo of Bliss IS a perfect album, mixing intricate riffs, beautiful harmonies and moments of utter madness to create brilliance.

Puzzle, by contrast, is Biffy sounding like the Foo Fighters. They still sound good, and the songs are ok (better live), but it's just not what Biffy are.

The lyrics too sadly, seemed to have been dumbed down slightly, with not a lot left to the imagination. At least Simon's literary influences still come through though.

Biffy Clyro – Living Is a Problem Because Everything Dies Lyrics 17 years ago
Great song, but I can't help feeling some of the lyrics are just...weak, and nowhere near as poetic as his older stuff..

For Example:

"wonder when it's my turn."

It's just seems tacky to me...

However, this stanza:

"I pray to God,
that you're right before my eyes,
bathed in White light,
with Halos in your eyes."

Is up there with All the Way Down and Toys, Toys, Toys as some of his best lyrics.

it's obviously about the death of his mother aswell, just to give my 2 cents on the songs meaning.

Biffy Clyro – Justboy Lyrics 17 years ago
I think it's about a relationship that is ending/ended but he still feels for her. She on the other hand, doesn't, and is telling him, along with everyone else, that he has just to move on...

"i'm alone with these thoughts of mine
people look and tell me justboy"

He feels he has poured his heart and soul into her, and in the end she just finishes with him and turns away.

"then you cup your hands you throw me away, i'm under"

But despite this he still has hope for their relationship in some form or another, that in spite of the darkness, it will turn out ok.

"i am hoping through the dark clouds
light shall break and bring a bright sky"

Biffy Clyro – Christopher's River Lyrics 17 years ago
To me I see it as a relationship that is now over, although that's not the way he'd have it if it were down to him:

"you and me, always
always"

He doesn't feel ready to let the person go:

"i'm not through"

And he is reminising about all the good times they had together and how he still wants that:

"our shadows softly on the grass
day would break we'd have our laughs
our shirt-tails in the wind
seems like yesterday my friend
i know that we were scared
hurt because you were not there
i know i want it all"

He is not ready to move on but also doesn't like feeling so unhappy about the whole thing, and wishes it would all end:

"wish the sky would fall on me"

That's how I see it. This whole album is more or less about relationships of one sort or another. Good stuff.
