I love how Natasha creates these characters- Sarah, Prescilla, Karen, etc. It makes her album like a storybook adventure with a dark twist or something. |

I love the chorus, and I think the mountains and the water are metaphors for people who have negative qualities that hurt a relationship. And then when they finally figure out what it is about them that's ruining everything, they're heartbroken. Hence, "More than realize".

Every time I watch this scene from Toy Story 2, I cry the same amount of tears, and I've seen the movie like five times (it seems to be a babysitting standard). Yes, it's a toy, but it's a toy with feelings! Haha.

This is just a little thing I noticed, and someone may have already mentioned it, but the line "We can’t go chasing down this golden street" continues the Wizard of Oz metaphor; "Follow the yellow brick road"

I understand that my personal interpretation of this song probably totally not what Vanessa was trying to portray, but here's my 2 cents:
When I first heard the song, I imagined it was about a girl who is really superficial and shallow. She has no depth to her, she's an air head so "She Floats"
Like the lyric "She steps out into the rain
But she's as dry..." To me, I think the rain represents all the bad things in the world, and they don't even affect her, she stays dry. And also, "Got no secrets" to me shows this girl who's just... not very deep. Okay, that's what i thought. :] |
