This song for me was the song that got me right into U2...Live at red rocks is just amazing, me coming from a irish family meant I knew what this song was all about and it is of course about the british troups going crazy in 1972 and killing inocent women and children. The thing about this song is the fact some narrow minded loyalist take it as a rebel song and then all the crap about U2 and giving money to IRA..what a load that is..the song is a protest song and a cry for peace..the words "No More" sung say it all...the version on rattle and hum still gives me goosebumps |

the song is of course about the irish coming to america and the hope they felt during that trip and the utter rejection that happened. Being from an Irish family in Scotland I can relate to this as my own grandfather tried that trip and hoped for the better life and sadly took ill and died but it didnt ruin us, my gran took over and became the head of the family and only recently died at the age of 96.
