Third Eye Blind – God of Wine Lyrics | 12 years ago |
exactly this. i think it's easy to say it's about something else if you've never lived with and/or loved an alcoholic, because if you have it jumps out at you and grabs you by the soul and every memory jumps out at you, I don't know if there's any other way to look at this song if you have an alcoholic in your life. i just couldn't agree more. |
Brandon Flowers – Playing With Fire Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think this has to do with *possibly* his mormonism. how he doesn't regret taking this path of fame and music. its a corrupted place, and he's toeing the line of righteous life and the lifestyle of fame that glamorizes sin and such. i think that basically he knows that it's hard to be in an area where it's so easy to get caught up in it all but he has God by his side, encouraging him to pursue his dreams. he knows where he'll end up, but wherever that may be he has a faith and God. that's what i got from it anyway. either i'm totally off or looking at it from a colored perspective. |
Sufjan Stevens – All Delighted People (Classic Rock Version) Lyrics | 13 years ago |
This is a hauntingly beautiful song. The homage that is paid to simon and garfunkel's "sound of silence" is done so well. as for the meaning, i think that's harder to decipher, especially having to splice the content of the song with content of the simon and garfunkel and how the two relate to the artist. i'm just in love with it. if this were anyone else, taking a simon and garfunkel song i think i would be revolted, but this is done so, so well. |
John Mayer – Who Says Lyrics | 14 years ago |
am i the only one who hears stop this train in it? anyway, didn't really like it the first time i heard it. but i've probably listened to the whole album like 20times since the first listen and i love it. I think snowboarder13kf hit the nail on the head. |
Simon and Garfunkel – Sparrow Lyrics | 14 years ago |
to limit it to Piaf's life is an unfair to the song. While it may be about Piaf, the meaning can be so much deeper, at the very least it can remind us to open our arms and our hearts. |
Simon and Garfunkel – Punky's Dilemma Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think it is about politics i think it wavers on the fine line of nonsensical and true deep meaning, whether it is the most profound piece of poetry in the last 50 or so years or whether its just a fun song about breakfast foods and getting high it is one of my favorite simon and garfunkel songs and off of my favorite album. I think you can take your own meaning from it and make it your own. |
Paul Simon – Father and Daughter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
is that his daughter singing the child's part because i'm pretty sure she's around that age and this song was used in the wild thornberry movie and i'm 16 and was born a paul simon fan and i remember watching a clip on nickelodeon saying that it was cool for him to work on a song with his daughter, i don't know if i just made that up and got it confused with something or that is how it is. if anyone knows can you fill me in? thanks. and i love this song. |
John Mayer – Come Back To Bed Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i have to agree with all the people who said their favorite line was "I survive on the breath you are finished with." cause its so true if you've ever just been laying with that special someone, and you breathe in and breathe their breath, its one of the most powerful feelings in the world, i love this song, and i love that their is a message in every john mayer song. I love john mayer, he's absolutely brilliant. but i've never head one of those verses, is that the live version, because i bought the heavier things when it came out, and i don't have that verse on my song. but this song is brilliant, and i love john mayer. |

Rocky Votolato – Death-Right Lyrics | 17 years ago |
you have to live your life and not worry so much you have to take risks in oder to truely live it's never easy to do anything but you have to anyway you have to live in order to have the right to die he wants you to know what is going on in your life and not be blind to life there is evil in everythign but you have to overcome it if you don't ever do anything your writing your own ticket to death you have to think for yourself and be a person who does what they say they will death is always calling you but you have to push forward and "do what must be done" there is still innocence in the world wheater you belive it or not. he wants to breathe in the magic of innocence cause once its gone you cant get it back. we're only following the taken path but love continues on through everything. and the lovers will meet agian. because there love is part of the innocense that will not and can not die something here is still innocent It doesn't matter if you decide not to believe it There are still places where the magic can breathe I want to breathe it in I want to lay down and never leave thats what i think it means.. kinda a line by line interpretation it's just my opinion maybe he intends something completely different but this song is amazing and if you enjoy his music you might want to try simon and garfunkel. alll of rocky's music is riviting to say the least |
