Trivium – Unrepentant Lyrics 17 years ago
I have to agree with you, mkpp77.

I'm a muslim myself and quite the fundamentalist/extremist (in trying to stick to religion, not the negative connotations of the word conveyed by the media today).

I've read the Quran over and never have I come across anything overly-strict, inhumane, terrorising, harsh, aggresive, or stupid (you get the idea), especially when analysed under context as something should be.

Every verse that had punishment for a crime, or killing in denfense in a war had verses of mercy immediately after.

I'm not trying to preach here. I'm just giving you my personal view.

So many people make Islam whats its not supposed to be... whether thats by mixing in culture or tribal beliefs or whatever.

God/Allah is merciful, just and loving, not a harsh tyrant.

Which idiot would want to worship something 'evil' or 'negative'?

Trivium – Requiem Lyrics 17 years ago
Its kinda weird. On the demo cd I hear "fire of passion ignite, open yourselves to fight".
But on the Ember to Inferno version I hear: "Fire and Thunder ignite, You'll burn yourselves tonight"

Or something along those lines lol.

But then again, I can also interpret it as the stated lyrics.

Hmm... I think its just me... Matt tends to cut sounds out of words on Ember and Ascendancy...

Trivium – The Storm Lyrics 17 years ago
tjhardrocker, I don't feel the song shows anger towards God and the human race.

It just seems to be a fantasy song of some sort.
Sounds more like being attacked by the Nazgul in lord of the rings (if they kill you with a special blade they can choose to make you one of them, but under their command). That would explain the last stanza/paragraph.

But for some reason it sounds like warcraft, when that prince becomes evil... I dunno... lol.

iamafish, I thought in the first comment I got the point across that honour killings are not an islamic tradition. full stop. those people who do it are unaware of this fact. people without knowledge who have blindly carried the tradition on from past generations when women were treated inhumanely.

There's a lot missing from these lyrics. Any help would be appreciated.

Yea, I agree, I thought it was "self loving", self loathing sounds more appropiate. I don't know how "so lonely" got there, as I'd changed it to self loving, lol.

I think this is just a crowd pleasing song. It doesn't refer to any actual occurence unlike some of the other tracks.

This song is about Amadou Diallo who was shot 41 times, and 19 of those shots impacted. He was killed by four police officers and the event is deemed by many a racial attack. He was an innocent man wrongly and brutally (41 shots!?) killed.

This song is about a man in Pakistan who heard that his daughter (well actually niece) had committed adultery. He slaughtered her in the night, along with his actual daughters (three of them) fearing they would follow their older sister's footsteps.
You can find more info here:

He went against his religion in doing so. And I'm sure he will receive a grievous punishment in hell for murdering his own innocent children.
