Ned's Atomic Dustbin – Kill Your Television Lyrics | 13 years ago |
These lyrics are incomplete. They should be: She said, she said "You don't know shit, Because you've never been there" She turned upon him, Took him by the hair Spun him round about, Laughing as he fell about, Sat down for a drink In her father's favourite chair Kill your television I said, "I know I don't know shit, Because I've never been there" You turn upon me Took me by the hair Spun me 'round about, pushing me out Laughing as I fell about Sat down for a drink In your father's favorite chair She said Soap for sore eyes I need an intermission If looks could kill I'd kill your television She said Soap for sore eyes I need an intermission If looks could kill I'd kill your television Kill your television Soap for sore eyes |

Public Image Ltd – Warrior Lyrics | 13 years ago |
At a live show I saw, during this song, in between verses, Lydon hocked a huge logie about 10 - 15 feet above his head and caught it in his mouth, then went right on singing. Despite that they do put on a great live show. PIL rocks! |
Public Image Ltd – FFF Lyrics | 13 years ago |
I think the meaning is obvious. Great song from great album. Johnny Lydon can be a douche but I still love his music. |

The Ocean Blue – Between Something and Nothing Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Lyrics should be something like this: Words that form a sentence Words that form a phrase In a poem or a letter Could not convey the meaning Of what this man has done In a painting On canvas As the colors fading They dictate my mood Can you see me Are you near me I find myself on canvas I find myself on stage Can you see me Are you near me And I long to know you're real And I long for you to be part of me I long to know you're real And I long for you to be a part of me In the fading twilight I sit and stare at her In all her beauty Her beauty You know I have to wonder Why all great men must die And leave their treasure They leave their treasure GREAT song! |

Carl Marsh – Here Comes The Crush Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Oh man! This is a cool song! I wouldn't even dare a guess at it's meaning. I think I'll just listen to it again. Bye. |
The Call – The Walls Came Down Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Michael Been said this about "The Walls Came Down": "There was a great deal happening politically - Grenada, Lebanon, or the government saying the Russians are evil and the Russian government probably saying the same about us. That kind of thinking inspired me to write the last lines of 'Walls Came Down'." It seems to me that Been is also interjecting the imagery of the Isrealites led by Joshua during their siege of Jericho. On the seventh day of the siege the priests blew their trumpets made of ram horns and the people shouted and Jericho's wall fell allowing Isreal to destroy the city. |
Bryan Ferry – Kiss and Tell Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Ferry was dating Jerry Hall in the 70's. She left him for Mick Jagger. Though he doesn't talk much about it, it's rumored that this song is his response to a tell-all book Hall wrote about their relationship. Catchy song. |
Talk Talk – Talk Talk Lyrics | 13 years ago |
Great early 80's song. This song deserves at least one comment...so, there it is. |
The Smiths – Sweet and Tender Hooligan Lyrics | 14 years ago |
For some reason the lyrics to this song make me think of "only A Lad" by Oingo Boingo. Johnny Marr is a GENIUS!!! |
Siouxsie and the Banshees – Swimming Horses Lyrics | 14 years ago |
According to Siouxsie: "This is based on a programme I saw about a female version of Amnesty, called ‘Les Sentinelles’. They rescue women who are trapped in certain religious climates in the Middle East, religions that view any kind of pre-marital sexual aspersion as punishable by death - either by the hand of the eldest brother in the family, or by public stoning. And there was this instance of a woman whose daughter had developed a tumour, and, of course, gossip abounded that she was pregnant. The doctor who removed the tumour allowed her to take it back to the village to prove that, no, it wasn’t a baby - but they wouldn’t believe her. The woman knew her daughter would have to be stoned to death so she poisoned her, out of kindness, to save her from a worse fate. Now this organisation has all these escape routes for women like her, mainly through the elder brother who pretends to have killed them. But once they’ve been saved, they can never go back. So the song starts, Kinder than with poison... I also used the imagery of, He gives birth to swimming horses, from the fact that male sea horses give birth to the children, so they’re the only species that have a maternal feel for the young. It was, I suppose, an abstract way of linking it all together without being sensationalist. I remember just being really moved by that programme, and wanting to get the sorrow out of me." |
Oingo Boingo – Nothing Bad Ever Happens Lyrics | 14 years ago |
I know the meaning is pretty obvious, but this song deserves at least one comment. It's one of Oingo Boingo's best. |

Crazy lyrics. Their coolest song, which isn't saying much, because they only put out one album. But, still, very cool song. |
Gene Loves Jezebel – Josephina Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Not a huge fan of their later stuff, but this song is pretty good. I'm gonna take guess here and say it's about someone named Josephina...maybe. |
Gary Numan – Radio Heart Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Hoping that his ex, whom he still loves, will return. Imagining every face he sees and every sound he hears is her coming back to him. |
Gary Numan – Music For Chameleons Lyrics | 15 years ago |

Gary Numan – Change Your Mind Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song deserves at least one comment, so here it is. Very cool song about changing your mind or direction in order to adapt and start over again, if that's what's needed. |
Gene Loves Jezebel – Cow Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow! Very cool song from a very cool album. Their earlier stuff is way under-rated. Never could figure out the meaning though. |
Frankie Goes to Hollywood – Two Tribes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Two nations go to war, use nuclear weapons and if you score against your enemy, you can't score anymore because ther will be no more people to play in the game of war. |
The Fixx – Sign Of Fire Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is sooo cooool! Judging by the lack of comments, the Fixx have more or less been forgotten. Too bad, they are a great band with a unique sound. |
The Fixx – Stand Or Fall Lyrics | 15 years ago |
The Cold War and the fear of having to survive a nuclear holocaust. |

A lot of missing lyrics in this post. I always thought it was about people ignoring the signs and getting caught in a nuclear holocaust. |
The Fixx – Less Cities More Moving People Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Not sure of the meaning. Sounds like a cry for a change back to a simpler more rural life. Excellent song. This and all Fixx songs deserve more comments. They were a great 80's band. |
The Fixx – Saved By Zero Lyrics | 15 years ago |
According to Cy Curnin it's about "doing away with encumbrances. Zero is the point of relaxation.” great song from a great underappreciated band. |
The Fixx – Are We Ourselves Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think the Fixx is very underappreciated. They don't get much respect for the music they put out in the 80s. This is an excellent song. |
The Fixx – A Letter To Both Sides Lyrics | 15 years ago |
From the Fletch soundtrack. Great Fixx song. |
Fishbone – Sunless Saturday Lyrics | 15 years ago |
C'mon! Doesn't anyone remember this song? It ROCKS! I think the key to the meaning of this song is in the second to last verse. Though he's singing about depressing images around him, it's all a metaphor for his feeling of being unworthy to receive the sun's light in his inner soul. whatever...it's a very cool song. |
Fishbone – Party at Ground Zero Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Pink vapor stew??? Excellent song. |
Fishbone – Slow Bus Movin (Howard Beach Party) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
From the Tapeheads soundtrack. I think the meaning is apparent. |

Fishbone – Lyin' Ass Bitch Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think the lyrics are pretty obvious. This song is hillarious! |
