Meat Loaf – Alive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
these lyrics have mistakes, too. changes: "and as the dust clears look in my eyes, im still alive" "and if my shadows all that survives, im still alive" |
Meat Loaf – Alive Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think bat out of hell III is just as good as the other two, if not better. and this song needs to be listened to more, the lyrics are too good, too amazing not to be heard |
Cat Power – I Found a Reason (Velvet Underground cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
such a beautiul song, i love the opening, the voice and the music. |
Belle & Sebastian – I'm a Cuckoo Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this says to me that he would rather not be in the situation he is in, thinking of this girl all the time is making him read in things that arent there, and miss things that are there. he is being driven crazy, not by the girl, but by himself and his constant wondering. i know the feeling. |
Belle & Sebastian – If She Wants Me Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song describes me and my lasr girlfriend so well.. its ironic that when i dedicated it to her, i didnt know the meaning. and i found out the meaning through her, climbing the hill, but knowing she wont be there. belle and sebastien are genius. and im liking the depth of the interpretations put forward. |
Belle & Sebastian – I'm Waking Up to Us Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the lyrics here are quite brilliant. |
Julie London – Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
first comment! anyone looking to expand their tastes in music or looking for something different should hit this artist up.. beautiful voice, chilled jazzy blues music, 50s.. its very stylish, and the songs are really nice |
Within Temptation – It's The Fear Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i dont know how this song came to be on my ipod, and i usually dont like singles titles 'its the fear' or something similar by bands that have slightly lame names. just goes to show that you should judge a book by its cover, this song is great |
Lonestar – Amazed Lyrics | 17 years ago |
country music is three chords and the truth. this song is a pretty accurate depscription of what true love is. |
Van Halen – Why Can't This Be Love? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by ledskynyrd on 10-05-2004 @ 08:20:34 PM I'll tell you why their are only 2 comments on this page. SAMMY HAGAR SUCKS. End of story. thank you hate. this song is brilliant, and i completely understand why the person who put up the lyrics felt the need to use caps lock. listen to the song and you'll understand. the guitar solo blows me away... |
Van Halen – Right Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by a_manda on 12-31-2004 @ 01:52:08 AM this song gives me hope that there are other people in the world, besides me, who are just as impulsive with their feelings as i am...and that i'm not the only hopeless romantic left. this is the way this song makes me feel, not sure why...but seeing and hearing this song live in concert made me feel all the more hopeful. van halen have a few songs give me the same feelings... they are really awesome musicians, and their words are great too. never miss the beat. Catch a magic moment, Right here and now It means everything You miss the beat, you lose the rhythm, And nothing falls into place |
Van Halen – Can't Stop Lovin' You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by mastermw on 02-11-2007 @ 06:59:17 PM this song is amazing, I remember making one of my Exs listen to this song. We both said we'ld forever feel this way, but ya.... same here. the opening music is so happy and kick back, this is a classical love song. |
Placebo – The Crawl Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by transparenteyeball on 12-14-2005 @ 02:25:05 PM Do you think the bit about 'the line will unfurl could be about him turning to cocaine or some other snortable drug to forget the pain he's going through? some people on here are too obsessed with songs being about drugs. |
Meat Loaf – It's All Coming Back to Me Now Lyrics | 17 years ago |
so awesome. i love marion ravens voice in her second echoes of each verse |
Alphaville – Forever Young Lyrics | 17 years ago |
cold war. |
Meat Loaf – What About Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i agree completely, good work choochoo. this song describes what i want to a tee. |
Meat Loaf – The Monster Is Loose Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the beast let loose after the thousand years.. meat loaf has an incredible voice, it rings so clearly |
Meat Loaf – Blind As A Bat Lyrics | 17 years ago |
your love is blind as a bat could mean God forgives and erases his sins, but then it would go "cause You paid for the wrongs i did". so based on that word alone (unless it is wrong) id say the song cant be accurately interpreted as being about Gods love I'm not afraid of the the truth no more I'm not afraid of the lies I hid I'm not afraid of the past of my sins 'Cause I paid for the wrongs I did |
Dido – Sand In My Shoes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song is a perfect description of the feeling i get from time to time. "from the road where the cars never stop going through the night, to a life where i can watch the sunset." such a great album by dido, i hope she keeps putting out music like this. |
Dido – Life For Rent Lyrics | 17 years ago |
While my heart is a shield and I won't let it down While I am so afraid to fail so I won't even try Well how can I say I'm alive To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. this song is so true. inspires me to take some risks, and live. |
Dido – Stoned Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by suitenoise on 07-18-2005 @ 03:19:56 AM I never would have though Dido would ever write songs set in this kind of lifestyle...its a big mistake I think, I mean she drew in a particular crowd from his first album and taking the songs in this direction isn't a good move. Getting stoned and having pointless sex with some boy and trying to mold that into a love song is an awful idea...I'm glad I never bought her second album. she is singing a song about a real life situation, not promoting anything. if you cant handle real world feelings then dont bother listening to music. im with ikvoria on this one. |
Wendy Mathews – The Day You Went Away Lyrics | 17 years ago |
she loved him, but deep down inside she knew it was doomed not to work out. he left her. |
Damien Rice – The Blower's Daughter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
its about love used wrongly. used as a high in life. and when the effect wears off, the user moves on. note the "till i find somebody new" at the end of such a moving song, it fits so well with closer. and natalie portman is awesome haha nothing to do with the song, but i just thought id add that. this line is so true.. "and so it is the shorter story, no love no glory" |
Iron Maiden – The Clairvoyant Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this is about a guy pondering life and reality. this one is more focused on ones power over life, its beginning, its end... so he consults a clairvoyant for answers. still not satisfied, i get the impression that the guy is curious about killing the clairvoyant another subtle reference to the possibility of reincarnation. i love maiden, they are such an intelligent band, but their music still holds its own in intensity |
Guns N' Roses – Move To The City Lyrics | 17 years ago |
this song gets me pumped. im moving to the city mid year, im over this house im staying in |
John Mellencamp – Jack and Diane Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by SpineofaJellyFish on 02-12-2005 @ 12:45:59 PM "Hold onto 16 as long as you can" is an awesome, so true to. This song is about children, and how we don't realize how wonderful life is when you're young. "Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone." I love that line. Appreciate life when you're young, cause when you're old, you'll lose the thrill of living. i disagree kinda. yeah its a bittersweet song, life is such a thrill when youre young, even going outside to play in the backyard is an adventure and you learnt something new. life always goes on, but whether you let the thrill of living go or not is your choice. whether you let yourself get caught up in the monotony of everyday life, study, work... this song reminds me to live life to the fullest. you only live once. great song |
Johnny Cash – Redemption Song (Bob Marley cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
another great johnny cash cover. his voice goes so well with joe strummers. |
Johnny Cash – Desperado (Eagles cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
so good, he has it sounding even better than the eagles "dont your feet get cold in the wintertime" |
Johnny Cash – Bridge Over Troubled Water (Simon & Garfunkel cover) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
his voice is so rough, but still so peaceful. great song |
Throwing Muses – Not Too Soon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah fair awesome song, the chorus is really cool. i like this line "You might as well be dead he said If you're afraid to fall" |
Julie London – Cry Me A River Lyrics | 17 years ago |
yeah it is pretty.. love the old style blues and her voice is gorgeous |
Johnny Cash – (There'll Be) Peace In The Valley (For Me) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
a very nice song, talking about heaven |
Robbie Williams – Something Stupid Lyrics | 17 years ago |
THIS IS A DISGRACE THE SONG IS BY FRANK AND NANCY SINATRA BUT IS ON THE WEBSITE UNDER ROBBIE, WHO DID A REMAKE OR SOMETHING I AM DISGUSTED but the song is awesome and i love it. how can people not know that frank and nancy sang this origionally? |
Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics | 17 years ago |
the comments about this song and aids are ridiculous, just a whole lot of people following a wrong idea like a flock of sheep to me this song is about actions and their consequences; and in the end nothing really matters, as the consequences of his actions can not be determined by a person, they depend on whatever happens due to reactions and circumstances: "any way the wind blows" |
Archers of Loaf – Wrong Lyrics | 17 years ago |
emotional, but not emo. head banging and good to get pumped from possibly he is angry that she doesnt love him and at first says this is beacuse she is inferior, then in the end he drops his anger and changes, saying that she is superior to him. whichever is true, he loves her heaps and she doesnt love him back |
Archers of Loaf – White Trash Heroes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
attempt? attempt implies failure. this song is awesome |
Placebo – Plasticine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
dont let what others percieve as beautiful change you into something you are not |
Placebo – Plasticine Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love the line "beauty lies inside desire" and of course "dont forget to be the way you are" sums it up pretty well, i agree with most of the above comments. but, the song title is spelt wrong, it should be "plasticine". and also i disagree with street spirit, i think that people should try to be the way they are. you think that if you were completely yourself, you would have no friends. maybe if everyone was completely themselves, we would all have different friends, that we got on with better... |
Alphaville – Forever Young Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by Robbie190 on 03-13-2006 @ 09:02:36 PM "This is a really beautiful song, but every time I hear it I feel kinda... slightly... sad?" yes it is beautiful, but it is about the cold war i think (see lyrics below). which is fine to be sad about. "we're only watching the skies. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Are you going to drop the bomb or not ? Let us die young or let us live forever. We don't have the power, but we never say never. Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip, the music's for the sad men." |
Iron Maiden – Montségur Lyrics | 17 years ago |
intense song, the lyrics are spat out with a harsh tone that suits the story. great history lesson jreich already gave everything that is needed to learn about this... this wikipedia link |
Guns N' Roses – Pretty Tied Up Lyrics | 17 years ago |
bondage S&M babe |
Guns N' Roses – My Michelle Lyrics | 17 years ago |
by Drewl4130 on 04-18-2004 @ 04:24:04 AM "download a cover of this song by AFI, it's really good" sorry man but that is stupid. nobody can redo gnr classics, especially not punk bands. this song is pure gnar, tells the story in a very upfront way, but still leaves a bit of hope at the end |
Iron Maiden – Infinite Dreams Lyrics | 17 years ago |
a simple and intelligent discussion and ponderings on reincarnation, with perfectly matching music. iron maiden are a great band. a lot of their songs seem to be wondering about life after death, their lastest album has songs that end talking about jesus dying on the cross... i havent listened to the new album heaps yet, but possibly they have decided that they believe in heaven and hell and god, after death? |
Placebo – Protect Me From What I Want Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think that this song is about drugs. "It's that desease of the age" drugs are like a new disease that effects people of this new age "It's that desease that we crave" the people all know that its bad, but they still want to use drugs. they put temporary pleasure over their overall wellbeing "Alone at the end of the (race is wrong) rave" after the drug fuelled rave, everyone has gone, and the user in this story is left feeling alone and empty "We catch the last bus home" "Corporate America wakes" i love this line, it gives me the feel of a waking busy city, everybody is rushing around, and nobody takes the time to slow down and live a bit. perhaps the user feels seperated from these people, which further drives him/her to take drugs "Coffee republic in case" "We open the latch on the gate" its morning and the user has finally made it home, exhausted and coming back down "Of the hole that we call our home" naturally the user is not happy to be home, i get the feeling that this song is describing him/her in a lifestyle that they hate "Protect me from what I want..." "Protect me protect me" they dont want to be the same as the rest of the world in one way, but they want to lead a normal life and not wreck their life also. taking the drugs seems to seperate them from this life, but they always have to face it afterwards. so the user is torn between taking drugs and not taking them, so he/she needs someone to protect them from the drugs |
