John Mayer – Clarity Lyrics | 17 years ago |
when i saw him perform this a few weeks ago, he intro'd it by saying it was about just waking up and feeling awesome, knowing it's going to be a great day. |
Ben Lee – Gamble Everything for Love Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Make a list of things you need, leave it empty Except for number one, write “love” those are thee best lyrics, i just am obsessed with them. and what a nice sentiment, right? |
Ben Lee – Begin Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i'm not sure if this is right or wrong or if it even matters, but i was always under the impression that he's saying, "i only want it to begin", not "i only wanted to begin." does anyone know? i saw on other lyrics sites the first one. regardless of what it is, i really love this song and agree with what has been said already. |
Ryan Shupe – Dream Big Lyrics | 17 years ago |
awww i love this song, it saddens me to see that no one has commented on it.. i went on a retreat a few months ago, and this was "our song." this song makes me want to cry and smile all at once |
Snow Patrol – Run Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I definitley didn't read through 9 pages of posts for this, so sorry if I repeat a lot of what others have said, I'm sure I am.. but I've listened to this song for months and months, never really listening to the words, until I came on here and saw how many people likened it to a couple being broken apart by distance. This especially hits home for me right now, and will even more in a few months. I'm absolutely crazy about this guy, we just began dating not long ago. The problem is that in six months, we're both going out of state for college, and it's been hard to enjoy my time with him, knowing that we're going to be forced apart sooner or later. Quite frankly this song makes me sick to think about, how hard it will be to say goodbye and finally face the reality. |
John Mayer – The Heart of Life Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this song is so comforting, sweet, and inspirational. I mean if I was ever really upset, and just ready to give up on life and what not, this song would be the cure, I just know it. Thank God for John Mayer writing this because I can just feel it helping me out, eventually. |
Arctic Monkeys – Bigger Boys and Stolen Sweethearts Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I have the version downloaded from the single, I'll have to find the one listed here... the one I have is absolutely hilarious too, "she's not nice.. she's pretty fucking far from nice" i |
John Mayer – My Stupid Mouth Lyrics | 17 years ago |
every time i listen to this song, i just want know what he said that inspired this song. like what was that little phrase that killed the night and poof out comes this addicting song |
Jason Mraz – The Forecast Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Am I really to believe my eyes that nobody has said anything about this song yet? I just got around to buying the CD and this was instantly my favorite, I'm shocked to find out that I'm alone. Well to whoever comes along next to see this, is this song not beautiful? It makes me want to pull down all the shades and lay with someone I love. Jason Mraz has my heart. |
Jason Mraz – I'm Yours Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I just discovered this song, and it just makes me.. happy. I never knew a man could have such a beautiful voice. Just when he says "i won't hesitate no more, no more" his voice just... ahh pure beauty |
Jack Johnson – Banana Pancakes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
While looking at the literal words "banana pancakes" and imagining something sexual is a little perverse, this song does hint at sex a little bit. It's great that everyone looks at it as just Jack wanting to lay around all day with the girl he loves, imagine if you were just waking up in the arms of your love, and just wanted to spend more time with them relaxing in bed. Would you just be relaxing in bed? Especially if you had to "close the curtains"? And just look at the lines: "..mama made a baby, really dont mind the practice, 'cause your my little lady" Hello, how do you practice making a baby? Hmmm.. I think this song comes off as sounding very innocent, but he really knows what's going on when they lay around and forget their cares. |
Yellowcard – Miles Apart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm about to begin my senior year, and they asked us last week to start thinking of what our senior messages will be in the yearbook.. but I've known mine since sophomore year. We'll be miles apart, I'll keep you deep inside You're always in my heart A new life to start, I may be leaving but you're always in my heart... I'd give it up for just one more day with you |
Death Cab for Cutie – I Will Follow You Into the Dark Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't know how much I can agree on the whole concept of him not believing in heaven or hell, I think his point is saying that no matter where his love ends up, he'll follow her without any fears. That's where the second verse about catholic school comes in. The nun tries to tell him that "fear is the heart of love." This is what he disagrees with, because he isn't fearful of what's to come of his love after death, and he turns his back on what the nun says, not necessarily the faith. Sorry if I repeated anything said in previous posts, no way was I sifting through 5 pages before making my own.. |
Dashboard Confessional – Hold On Lyrics | 17 years ago |
So this song is super old and who knows when the next person to look at it and see this response will come along, but I'm going to leave one anyway just because I love this song that much. I've had this CD for years but just recently discovered SongMeanings, alas this delay.. "I think she gave me something to live for, I guess I helped her pass the time" Torcherous and brilliant |
Dashboard Confessional – Slow Decay Lyrics | 17 years ago |
While this song isn't one of my favorites, I have tremendous respect for it. The opening music has so much power and really embodies what I imagine it must feel like to return home after war. I think the reason I'm not as fond of this song as I am of others is just the fact that I've never been in a situation remotely similar to combat and war, I can't even try to relate.. but this song is something special. |
Dashboard Confessional – Reason To Believe Lyrics | 17 years ago |
and wow i just read what pinkparadise said, that is really true if you look at the song just literally for what the words are saying. |
Dashboard Confessional – Reason To Believe Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"my heart is sturdy, but I need you.." enough said? |
Dashboard Confessional – The Secret's In The Telling Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song!! And I agree with everyone on the forbidden love theme.. It reminds me of the movie Tristan & Isolde, anyone else? And just wondering those last three lines are bugging me.. the girl ends up with someone else, while he is left alone? That seems to be the case, albeit a depressing one. |
Dashboard Confessional – Stolen Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is so amazing, a great song to end summer. "And from the ballroom floor we are in celebration, one good stretch before our hibernation. Our dreams assured, and we all, we’ll sleep well." Reminds me of one great last hoorah before the fun of summer ends and the work of fall begins. |
