I can relate to this song a lot right now. How i take it is that he isn't sure exactly where this is going, but he likes it, and it's refreshing. "So if you want to be with me With these things there's no telling We'll just have to wait and see But I'd rather be working for a paycheck Than waiting to win the lottery" that part especially speaks to me. I am IN LOVE with this guy, and it's not going to work out very well, now if ever, and then there is a perfectly sweet amazing guy who REALLY likes me. I think of the guy I am in love with as WINNING THE LOTTERY because he is my first and only love, but working for the paycheck with this other guy seems nice and humble and fun... and real. |

To me, this song is about two people in completely different worlds. They have a lot in common, and things could be AMAZING for them but it's just not right because they aren't the same in more logistical ways... this song really fits right now for me.. I'm really falling for a guy who's too old for me. we both know things could be great but it's just not right right now. I love, i mean LOVE, this song so much... but... I have absolutely no idea what it really means. I am especially interested in the part of 'time takes back the slack she had when just seventeen'... I guess I am just very ignorant because I listen to this song on repeat for hours and i still can't understand it really. This is my favorite song ever. It is so beautiful. I can listen to it over, and over, and over and not get tired of it. Her voice is AMAZING. "I love you more than I should so much more than is good for me" That is my favorite line, perfect begining. Who hasn't felt that way? That point when you love someone so much that you're afraid it's going to get dangerous for your heart.. SO GOOD 10/10!! |
