The Apples in Stereo – Energy Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It always sounds like "And there's a lot of sodo-you And there's a lot of sodomy" ...yeah. Good song though. |
Pat Monahan – Her Eyes Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is the SWEETEST song ever. If you want to get mad at throwing lyrics in just to rhyme, go listen to Buckcherry. Anywayyy. "Scares me to death when she thinks and drives" Ahaha, gotta love it. |
The Cab – One of THOSE Nights Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Gawd, sooo catchy. I don't care very much for Brenden so... eh. But yay Patrick. ;D Anyhoo. "I'll be more than a king I can't take that, I can't take that" What exactly does that mean? |
The Ataris – San Dimas High School Football Rules Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Cute song. ;) Seems pretty straightforward. Ish. "contrary to the popular belief... i really dont think san dimas high school sucked at football. if you looked in the audience during bill and ted's excellent presentation there are a lot of guys where the football letter jackets and they all look pretty jacked if you ask me. plus, the only true version of this song is the acoustic one" Yeah, well... that was a movie. Don't know if I even need to say more. For anyone who said SDHS doesn't exist, it's called Google; use it. I went to SDHS and YEAH, our football team sucked ass. End point. Cool movie, Bill and Ted's. Sucks that SDHS wasn't even used in it... |
Katy Perry – Ur So Gay Lyrics | 15 years ago |
...Haha. The thought that it might be about Mr. Wentz hadn't even occurred to me, but now that I think about it, it's very likely. Especially after watching the music video. |
Katy Perry – Ur So Gay Lyrics | 16 years ago |
joan_of_snark: That's pretty much what I was thinking. About the "gay" usage, anyway. Not calling him stupid, but criticizing how in love with himself he is. Gay is definitely not the right word, but whatever. Freedom of speech and all that. |
Fatboy Slim – Because We Can Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The meaning? Simple. BECAUSE WE CAN. -dance- |
Toadies – Possum Kingdom Lyrics | 16 years ago |
kittiesm: And that, my friend, is where the power of interpretation and placing yourself in one's shoes comes in. Yes, that would make sense in the immortality aspect, but look at it from the rapist's mind: You need to lure her in. Attract her, promise her something she just can't refuse. It's the illusion of love without love ever being present. Sweet talk her just like a (happily) married couple might. "Baby, am I fat?" "No, sweetheart. You're just as skinny and gorgeous as the day I met you, and you always will be." Etc., etc. Maybe not the illusion of love in this case, but the illusion of security. I've never seen the video before but both the vampire and rape "theories" would be plausible were it not for his tone of voice, not to mention the little lines he sneaks in. "I'll not be a gentleman" Why wouldn't he be a gentleman if it was just about a vampy coming out to his lover? "So help me, Jesus" I'm using the stereotype, so sue me, but I thought vamps were all DEMONICsoullessEVILLL. "Give it up to me" Hmm? It only makes it sound like he's trying to take something from her, he's being greedy. If he was just vampin' her, where would this motivation of greed come from? They would both supposedly be benefiting. But this line makes it seem like he'd be getting FAR more from it. "Do you wanna die?" Mainly because of the tone he uses it with in the song, but, um... correct me if I'm wrong, but it clearly sounds like a THREAT. Not, "lolz we can dies 2getha and b reborn and suck bloooood. :)" But yeah. I guess that's my two cents. |
Captain Jack – Dream A Dream Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Gah! WHAT Is the piece played in the beginning of/throughout the song?! I always forget the name.. |
Fall Out Boy – What's This? Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think it's a wonderful cover, definitely not what I expected from them when I first played it. As some have said before, Patrick's vocals truly shine in this song. :] As for matching Danny Elfman, I doubt that was a part of their intentions in the least. And what exactly is bad about it? I have friends who dislike Fall Out Boy but can't help but like this song. As far as I can see, it's only another person who probably has never even heard the song and just dislikes Fall Out Boy, it's not their taste in music, or they're someone who hates it when things are remade, unless it's by an artist *they* approve of. |
The Goo Goo Dolls – Slide Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Wow, I didn't have much of an opinion on the meaning of this song before, but after reading BeachBabe182's I can totally see it. I think that hit it on the nail. :) |

Anna Nalick – Breathe (2 A.M.) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't see how it could be about "coming out" at all. I mean sure, there are a few lines in there that could possibly mean something like that, but with the general message of the song it doesn't seem to fit. To me the whole song is like, "Stuff happens, but life goes on." I don't see how the lesbian thing would make sense. Beautiful song, in my opinion. |
Sick Puppies – My World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Lol, instead of going in depth, basically what jeppo said. :) |
Sick Puppies – My World Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think this is about a guy who's basically had enough of his girlfriend, or maybe even a close friend. He feels like whoever the person in question is has already abandoned him ("here everyone I ever need, Always ends up leaving me alone) Just by their actions and decisions towards him, though they may still be considered together or best friends. So when the person in question starts suggesting things, probably thinking that the guy just isn't thinking well (I dont care what you think Im not seeing a shrink Im not doing this again) He already knows what he's doing, so he has no need to listen to what they're saying, not that he probably would, anyway. (So let's see what you got And let's see what you're not And whatever else you pretend You've defended my intentions Long enough) As if he's saying that, "What are you really, and what do you want?" Sort of an issue of trust, wondering what's been real and what hasn't. (So here I am again In the middle of the end The choice I wish I'd made I always make too late.) It's most likely him saying that he wishes that he made the decision to rid himself of the person in question a lot sooner, which could have a lot of logic behind it. I would go in depth more, but I'm running short on time. Maybe later. Anyway, awesome song! More people should hear it. |
Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn – Room of Angel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Oh my gosh, beautiful lyrics with a wonderfully eerie song. I love this song, and it is definitely one of my faves for her. |
Fall Out Boy – Sugar, We're Goin Down Lyrics | 17 years ago |
*applauds* Yay Ammara. :] Anyway, I love this song to DEATH. Despite what other people may think about it... =/ There could be so many hidden meanings in here; ahhh, the beauty of music. |
The Presidents of the United States of America – Dune Buggy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I honestly don't see how it has anything to do with sex... It seems a bit more innocent to me. Like maybe playing with a toy car while at the beach, using spiders as passengers, and in the end they got in an accident? Haha, that's what I see anyway. |
