I really like this song regardless of the meaning. there are some good interpretations here. ~just a note, for some reason the first part of the song makes me think of parents telling their kid about sex, STD's, and drugs(?) anywho... great classic song! |

| I believe the story about the appliance store is right, I personally think "that little faggot" is referring to the band. Being called a "faggot" is a pretty hard blow, it's never a compliment. That those comments, are actually critisizim(jealousy?) to the band and rockers in general. My first love, my boyfriend through most all of highschool, contacted me after many years and said that this song sums up all his feelings for me that he still has. awwwww.....damn, i'm crying.... usually not this sappy (sniffling) |

OK, so i really don't have much nice to say about auqa, however, this song is brilliant. I'll explain...... to me they have made the image of Barbie and Ken so dirty. Bad, Barbie, Bad.....she kinda sounds like the extremely drunk chick at the party. Ken says "come Barbie lets go party" she says ya then you can undress me everywhere!! Whenever I hear this song i see my best friend in highschool singng this song(picture a big hockey player singing in a "Barbie" voice, ok so maybe you had to be there) LOL :) |

This song rocks! I did once hear it at a funeral, I didn't know the man (the decest) well. I kinda felt bad, cause the song just made me want to dance ...shame on me... :) The song kinda lightened the mood a little...i must say that it sure as hell beats organ music for a funeral |

This is only an opinion, but the meaning that I have extracted from this song is that Mrs. Robinson has a family, she has had an affair with someone a lot younger than her. she gets around in search of her lost youth her want to feel younger. She needs forgiveness (Jesus loves you more than you will know / heaven holds a place for those who pray) Her husband is aware of what is going on, but realizes that she needs some help (just the robinsons affair /most of all you have to keep it from the kids) Mrs. Robinson is a very confused woman with a lot of secrets(hide it in your pantry with your cupcakes) Just my opinion......everyone is entitled to theirs :) |
